Proscar (Finasteride)

I started today with taking Proscar 5 mg a day , any one who has tried this ?

my goal is to become fully impotent. I started with depo provera injection mid december but had to stop due to health problems. hope this wil do the job also

iff not than at least i willl be able to sleep whole nights and dont have to go to pee. He is always keeping me busy, wether i have erections and have to work on that, or wake me up to go to pee in the middle of the night.

Damn i hate him !! I really is time for him to go to sleep for a looooong time

any suggestions ? thx in advance !!

I can understand why you would dislike your penis. However it is the prostate and not the penis which is causing the condition that you mentioned.

I am not aware of the advantages or disadvantages of proscar.

PROSCAR (finasteride), a synthetic 4-azasteroid compound, is a specific inhibitor of steroid Type II 5α-reductase, an intracellular enzyme that converts the androgen testosterone into 5α-dihydrotestosterone (DHT).

From the: TABLE 4 : Drug-Related Adverse Experiences, there is only a 5% chance of becoming impotent and a 0.4% chance of gynecomastia. (page 3 of the web site)

A different drug may be better than this drug to become impotent.

Yeah Mac, LOL, I wanst trying me depo to shrink my prostate in the first place.

however, the fact that i cant go on with the DPdue to health problems

kept me searching. thats when i discovered Proscar. I maid have becides the side effects (impotence) some other benefits for a 52 years male

Without much testosterone in your system, your prostate will eventually shrink quite a bit.

A year of spironolactone (and estrogen) shrunk my prostate considerably, and I always had BPE/BPH (enlarged prostate) before this. I previously took Avodart for a few months to reduce the swelling, but it didn't have nearly the effect spiro and E did.

5mg of finistride stopped my nite time wake ups to piss but was taking estrofem as well so I'm not sure what helped the most.

I started taking 5mg of finasteride about 7 months ago. My urologist changed to this medication after I complained that I was experiencing retrograde ejaculation with Rapaflo. After 4 months of taking Proscar, I began to notice real differences in my erections, libido, ejaculate and more. Now I have a really hard time even getting a momentary erection. My prostate, penis and balls have all gotten smaller. I think that finasterade is slowly castrating me chemically.

Finasteride is a 5 alph reductase inhibitor that blocks one of the three enzyme pathways that convert T to the super potent DHT. Avodart blocks all three with about a 81% efficacy. So, Avodart works a LOT better but it is also more expensive. You can try a low dose of E on top of that or actually an E-blocker like tamoxifen. Nothing will kill your libido and erection like super low E!
