Cow & other Animal Farm Smarts

Post by moi621 (imported) »

🐮

Being involved with one ranch property and one ranchette I have come to know some farm critters.

Today I saw this story

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110203/ap_ ... rvivor_cow

BILLINGS, Mont. – Five years after a cow dubbed the "Unsinkable Molly B" leapt a slaughterhouse gate and swam across the Missouri River in an escape that drew international attention, the heifer has again eluded fate, surviving the collapse of the animal sanctuary where she was meant to retire.

My co-ranch involves some twenty head used for breeding and selling pasture raised meat. They are slaughtered one per 'visit'. Although several vehicles and new vehicles may drive by, "they" 🐮 know the sound of the death man's truck and act up. After he does his deed to one of them, they are all calm.

How dumb is that?

Any memories of farm animal experiences? Sweet Grandma killing the chicken is one two unrelated friends carry as scars. :D

I like goats. They can really be individuals and personable. Good for brush control and milk.

Suburban farmer, no farm critters permitted :(

Plants 'feel' stress and pain too so no idealizing vegetarianism here please. Vegans are prejudiced against those not of the Animal Kingdom! 🗣️

🐮 🐷 🐮 Yum! 👅

😠 Re: Sounds like

Garbage science! 😠

It is not just about the Goldilocks Zone for liquid water but also a nice magnetic field as allows organic molecules to become larger and a moon more akin to a binary planetary system so as to moderate tides, among other considerations.

Such news releases are intended for the 🇺🇸 science disabled consumption.

Believe in the Arboreal Octopus of the Pacific Northwest!

Now if you read this it may not make sense, no matter which thread it goes to.

I was once mounted (I was fully cloathed and working in the barn you ornery minded rascals) by a young bull calf. I knocked him off me and had the Vet fix him with a burdizzo the next day. Now I wish I'd had the Vet fix me too.
