Where is a surgical castration (bilateral orchiectomy) done???
NO NO NO, I know it is done on the balls. LOL
Is it normally done at the doctors office, or does it require a surgery center.
Of course now days only major surgery is done in the Hospital. The day surgery is normally done in a surgery center where you check in, get general sedation and are back on the way home 3 hours after you got there.
However it sounds like bilateral orchiectomy could be done in the Doctor's office with a local and be gone in an hour.
Is that true?????
Naturally that completely ignores the every present problem of finding a doctor who will even consider doing it.

Re: Where is castration done
At least one member was castrated by his doctor in the surgery. Just a local anasthetic and it was over very quickly - he was able to walk away and, apart from some soreness, had no problems. But if there are others, then they are very few.
Most seem to have been castrated in a clinic with at least a couple of days aftercare (either as an in-patient or out-patient). Some appear to have had few, if any problems but some people have had quite serious ones.
Finally, some desperate souls have used cutters or been banded. The experience with cutters also seems to run from, 'no problem', to 'nearly bled to death'.
So, to sum up. It seems that castration can be done anywhere, and the results seem to depend upon the skill of the person carrying out the operation and the general state of health of the person being castrated!
The consensus would appear to be that the best is to be castrated in a well run clinic, particularly if it is more than a simple orchiectomy.

I get the impression that if left to a general surgeon they would like to do it at a surgery center but that urologists prefer a hoapital. --FLO--

Re: Where is castration done
The type of castration will also dictate where done. While scrotal can be done in office, surgical, clinic or hospital. The groin type would be done most likely in a hospital. Since it is a more detail operation you will need a day or so in the hospital for recovery.
In the doctors office he would use a local. In a clinic you would most likely a mild sedative. Hospital you could have a local with or with out a sedative or fully out
Yes castration can be done in an office. One retired doctor did thousands of castration. Bottom line is what the doctor likes to do.

I agree.
Find a professional medical practitioner. The best place might be a medical institution with a medical school where doctors are trained. Sometimes they are able to perform such services for very reasonable fees.
