I know there is a need for airport security!!

But what is necessary and what is not??

The full body scan shows all....maybe to much !!

{I know that this may insure we arrive at our destination

but, is there no other means this can be accomplished

I've been on a rampage for days out this, and I have decided that I will not fly again until this changes.

Besides, none of those cute guys at Minneapolis at the last MOM wanted to pat me down.

That sort of hurt my feelings.

I am with you P. its the train or bus or car but I will never fly again, this is just to over the top.

BTW in one of the Scandinavian countries don't remember which they have a scanning device that checks everything and does not show anything, and this is the best we can do.

Even before security, the airlines stopped treating passengers as customers and more like, meat.

No leg room.

No fresh air to conserve fuel.

Extended prior check in time to accommodate their extended check in lines.

For a good time watch the check in procedure in that old John Wayne movie,

"The High and The Mighty".

Except for nearly killing them, they treated the passengers pretty good.

I'm taking a flight to Texas next month and I'm not looking forward to it, not because of the scans or pat down. They can grope me all they want; at my age I might not have another opportunity to get groped.

It's all the other crap they put you through, the wait at the airport and the flight itself, hours all scrunched up unable to move with no leg room. I used to enjoy flying but no more. The last flight I took I was in a window seat, and I didn't move out of it for four hours.

My Niece's husband just took his Mother's ashes to be buried and the security recognized an urn and treated him respectfully but the airline was a cattle call with narrow seats and all sorts of hassles. The three of them went to Washington State for the memorial and spent 12 hours flying from Pittsburgh to Houston to Seatle then driving another 4 hours because they needed cheap seats. Utterly ridiculous way to travel.

Now I've been getting patted down from 1978 because of my wheelchair and it's stupid and silly and I try to be as helpful to the process as possible. I don't grouch and I don't grumble. I just out on my nice face and do whatever the sercurity wants.

I several times traveled in a group with 4 wheelchairs (mine was the only one without a motor), 2 cane users, 1 deaf kid, a dozen high school kids, six advisors and four grad students. Now that was adventure time and I can say one thing about those High School kids, they behaved and helped the airline get us all through security and on and off the planes.

If I could get scanned, then I would but since I can't then I just say to myself "it's not a burden, it's only security" and don't let it bother me.

And If you need to rant and rave here, by all means go ahead-- scream, vent and do whatever else you need to do.

I worked at a place 30+ years That had very tight security{ especially after

9/11} security was so tight that we had a homeland security office on cite, and never had to go through a body scan{that showed an x ray} or the pat down process...

so why does the airport have to be so invasive!!

this is just to much, I will not fly any more!!

I know several airline pilots personally that do not like it either!!
