Your re-write is the preferred way of writing something.
Yet, most editors would say that statement is one word and one hyphen verbose, and rewrite to: Your re
Slammr (Slammer is the preferred spelling) is brave with this thread. Writers are bonded to their writing as are parent-child. Yet, no one can be their own best editor; they can improve on their own if they put a piece away for a day or so and then re-read and do a more dispassionate rewrite.
Fortunately, many of us prefer the un-preferred; for example, I prefer Slammr and we all must revolt against those blasphemously suggesting that our very genre is un-preferred. There remains a nice variety of avant garde writing styles at EA, so vive la différence!
Gareth19 is likewise insightful with his stream of consciousness observation. That is very much in vogue, in many variations, with the script writers and associated actors I work with. Paragraph breaks must fit the essence. Lets do a sample script clip as an exercise; it also illustrates effective non-preferred breaking the rules of no one word sentences and not starting a sentence with a conjunction nor ending it with a proposition:
Slammr enters, looking tall and handsome as ever, but taking in a loud deep breath with an air of irritation:
Fuck!
Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck.
The venting has calmed him and he sits to edit a paragraph as tall as the Empire State Building into a more readable 102 landings of line breaks, so readers can catch their breath. Slammr finally fully exhales and one last word comes out, yet pleasantly this time:
Fuck.
