RE: Importing medications

Post by billie_tv (imported) »

Has anyone ordered estrogens, androcur, depo, spironolactone, etc. to Canada?

I'm wondering if the regulating body here, Health Canada, would come down on me. I just want to know if I can get a post office box and do my thing privately without Big Brother getting involved and showing up with the constabulary. I read a previous thread about different online pharmacies and again just wanted to know if there's a hands down winner for customer satisfaction and competitive prices. Thanks.

Send e-mail (mailto:[email protected]) to the folks at inhousepharmacy.biz (http://www.inhousepharmacy.biz/faq.html) and I'm certain they'll let you know if they've ever experienced any issues with the Canadian postal authorities or your regulating body.

I looked on their site: outside of the UK it looks to be called Four Corners, located in Vanuatu (South Pacific), and Canada is not on their list of countries they ship to. It's odd that they ship to the US, but Canada is more rigourous with their customs and import prescription laws. Maybe a referral to an Endocrinologist is in the works... but the point of it being I didn't want to be in the open, I was trying, carefully and with lots of information regarding safety, doses and risk factors, trying to see if it was 'right' for me.

Are you anywhere near the US border, where you might rent a US post box and ship there, then pick them up on a weekend visit? It's a strategy used by some small Canadian businesses and individuals to avoid long delays and seizures.

It's not a bad strategy, Caith721, but I do think one might get caught at the border returning to Canada. It'd be even worse than talking to my GP to get a referral, having border agents want to fingerprint you for bringing in Estrogen.

I have been told that the Canadian custom intercept all medication and destroy it. Some of it sometime go through because they can not open them all but because of the issues, most of the online pharmacy stopped shipping to Canada.

Because of that and instead of trying to import it myself, I found a Dr who would prescribe what I need. It's always good to have some blood test and medical support when needed. One of the added benefit is that my insurance reimburse it.

Thanks Alex1234

It probably is better, in the long run, to have a medical professional monitoring you and requesting the needed tests. The embarrassment of requesting or wanting such medications or being referred to an Endocrinologist would only be temporary. The damage, if done by oneself, could be permenant, or worse. And you are right, Customs cannot inspect every single package; but it's like Russian roulette... one time the 'gun' goes off.

Got my first shipment ever of medications from United Pharmacies. The goods came from Hong Kong. The packaging was lousy. The box looked like the mail truck had run over it. Well beat up.. I was not over impressed.

I had a couple boxes from them look a bit crushed also -- though the insides were unharmed. hmmm.
