What, MOI ?

Moi does not like Metropolis because it is so obvious.

Fans, remember Hitler liked this movie.

No hidden message as with Avatar or Alien series. Still Das Volk did not get it as to succumb to Hitlerism.

It takes intelligence to understand SciFi!

There are no hidden messages in Avatar and Alien; they wear their messages on their sleeves and sledgehammer them into the audience's brains, and Hitler liked Metropolis for the same reason you like Avatar, glitzy effects. Dr. Goebbels requested a meeting with Fritz Lang in which he offered him control of the entire German film industry. Lang thanked him and requested time to think over the enormous responsibility, went home, packed a suitcase and caught the next train out of Germany. Lang at least got it.

One thing I've never quite understood about Metropolis is why, in a film so averse to the factory culture of the early 20th century, the villain Rotwang lives a seemingly medieval life, alone of all the characters in the film.

There is also an animated movie called Metropolis that I remember watching a few years back. Wasn't bad for an animated movie. I think that's off topic tho.....
