The words of dragonfly and wannabenullo resemble my own feelings. Very interesting. As a CD since early childhood I always thought "that's it", but since some decades I started to dislike my male parts more and more. I wouldn't miss them. Developed considerable gynecomastia since some years even without estrogens and wear a bra regularly. I even changed my physician. Told my new female doc that I'm transgendered. Not retired yet.

I know at our age sex is not a driving force so there might be a solution that is something you can live with and something your wife can live with as well. I know once I was castrated I have no longer had any desire to remove any other parts of my body, all those feelings left.
Just something to think about,
Oh yes, welcome aboard,

Good point of view. I already did this and my wife feels completely at ease with my wish for castration. We already didn't have intercourse for the last six years.

If you think you are transgendered than you more than likely are I would seek proffessional help to determine the depths of your feelings. Not all transgendered individuals transition completly (SRS) Some have breast augmentation and are happy with that. You have valid concerns about taking estrogen but if you're castrated you'll need to do some type of hormone therapy without testosterone production estrogen won't be so hard on your liver, even though a small amount is produced via the adrenal glands. As for me I'm transitioning and looking forward to the full SRS and have been castrated since July and I'm happy with that decision but it's just the begining of the proccess remember that there are no do overs with castration. The only thing that didn't happen for me is breast development that pissed me off so I have no choice but to get inplants. but it sounds as if your well on your way to developing rather large breast once your castrated they may grow even larger if they don't you'll have softer skin Win, Win if you ask me.

No breast development whatsoever? That sounds soooo depressing. How long have you been taking estrogen, and how much daily?

You're right, castration is a very serious impact and for this reason I won't overdo my decision. Therefore the 'confession' to my doc.
And it is even much more complicated since I have a blood disorder which results in a higher risk of developing blood clots in my veins. Got two deep vein thromboses already. This condition is an absolute contraindication for HRT. Thus after castration I must live without HRT which could be a problem, although some members of this forum seem to be successful doing this.
Due to my gyne my breasts are clearly visible, although more pronounced with a bra. So I'd only opt for moderate breast enlargement with implants, if at all.
I know it's a 'long and winding road' I'm walking now.
