I have received an unusual number of emails and PM's regarding stories here at EA. While the story hit counter is up to 9.66 story hits per MINUTE, which is a record HIGH, feedback is at an all time low. It's not unusual to go for days on end with NO activity on the Story/Author boards.

Several Authors and would-be Authors write and express their feelings on this. And I am in agreement with them. It's almost like the days of the single, non-segmented message board here at EA, where a comment on a story was a very unusual rarity.

And of course, the main concern voiced by those who write in is, "Why should I continue to write my story," or "Why should I even submit a story here?" or "What does it take to get a response out of readers?".

For the record, I submitted a story myself to Nifty.org that was filed by their Moderator in the "gay, no sex" files. Guess what? I got a pile of feedback on it. Take for example the XY-n story : 14 parts, every one hit every day since November 2001 ... and almost zero feedback. You do the math. In fact, on the Story/Author boards, it's usually the same very few people who post a comment. This is discouraging.

I am echoing the words of those who have written, and as I said, I agree with them. It doesn't take THAT long to jump over to the message boards or to drop an email to the Author once you've read the story.

Of course, this could also explain the hit counter going up, perhaps in desperation. The amount of stories coming in, if you've noticed, has fallen off as well and it wouldn't surprise me in the least if it continues to do so.

It is because I have received feedback from my on line friends only about my stories I have stopped writing for EA. I now only write none castration stories for ASSGM and NIFTY since I do get tons of mails from thoes readers. Atleast there I know my hard work pays off in the form of even simple one line E-mails as a hand shake for writing for others enjoyment.
