When a surgical castration is preformed, do they remove the extra skin left over (meaning the ball sack which has nothing to hold and no use)?

Not all the time...

Here's a thread: http://www.eunuch.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=18937

I'm sure there are others but I can't find them.

No, generally sac is not removed during castration. Testicles are removed via small incision in scrotum usually. Unless you request sac removal of course.

Castration is an orchiectomy. It can be done either through the scrotum or inguinally. The inguinal approach does not have any incision into the scrotum. A scrotal reduction or removal is a totally different operation. In some cases it may be done in conjunction with a scrotal orchiectomy but that is not common in most medical castrations. In my case, my insurance would pay for the bi-lateral orchiectomy but not a scrotal reduction.

no they don't. in most cases it is considered plastic surgery and hence needs to be done by a "plastic surgeon". Also the person doing the surgery has to know exactly how much to leave because that area twists and turns a lot plus you bag will still shrink and expand according to hot or cold as it does with balls in it. If the doctor or cutter takes too much you might just split open and that would not be a good thing. the good doctor in florida will remove the sack for like an extra $1500.

I had waited to have the scrotum removed. I was thinking about implants after have both removed (due to injury). I didn't opt for the implants and had a plastic surgeon remove the scrotum. I had two surgeries. The first one the doctor didn't remove enough of the scrotum and it was not comfortable and it looked odd when it was warm and the skin relaxed.

The doctor had left me the option on how much to remove. I told him to remove all of the scrotum. I didn't want it to have any trace of it. It turned out well and I'm healing. I can only see a line on where the cut was made.

I didn't plan on being castrated, but I now like how it feels. I do take testosterone. It's alittle odd with fitted underwear. Nothing to hold up.
