Flatbagger
Officially done, and back home.
Had my first T injection this morning as well before discharge from the hospital.
Trying to match my pre-op levels. So far no changes really, pretty happy other than the incision pain.
Cheers

Re: Flatbagger
Congratulations on finally finding relief from the pain. I hope that your healing is quick and uneventful.
How difficult was it to find a cooperative surgeon in Japan? What steps did you need to take to convince one that castration was the best solution to your problem?

Re: Flatbagger
Given that the lyrica was the only thing helping the pain there were few options left.
14 years of pain but I did get a son out of it.
After we decided to cut the last testes it was done within a week. The first day just after surgery was extremely painful. Inguinal approach, felt exactly like was it was after a brutal trauma.
Need to find some decent info on HRT, there is lots on raising existing levels but not for double amputees (technically true). My uro has some worry about liver cancer after prolonged or high dose T, so I have to check out the different forms.
Cheers

Re: Flatbagger
Congrats on finally finding a solution for the pain. I sympathize with you about it.
HRT is complex, but there are many different options out there. Androgel seems to be the best choice if its available. The standard dosing works just great for me, with no mood swings, and a pretty consistant level of T in my system.

I found I broke out badly with any topical gel. I use weekly injections.
I'm technically not a eunuch if that means I still have balls. If they're supposed to do something besides provide shrinking decoration, I'm a eunuch. Just not sure why I still have them or if there's any advantage to keeping or losing them.

Re: Flatbagger
Wellesley,
T injection levels can be adjusted to keep you at a happy point. You don't have to go to pre-op levels, if your energy levels are good then you can keep a lower level without having as much in the way of sex drive. It can also help with keeping you healthy as well since high testosterone levels when your body isn't wanting that can affect other things in the body. I know my endocrinologist has been watching my hemoglobin levels.
So you can always have the injection amount dropped to the point that makes you feel best from an energy standpoint and also based on the sex drive you are happy with.

Re: Flatbagger
Thanks,
Yeah, apparently the shot I got should keep me for 2 weeks to a month. I will get levels tested next week.
The uro wants to titrate me down to a minimal dose for the potential liver issues. Guess it will take time to work it all out but for now I am great with the energy and the post op pain is manageable. Going for a wound check today.
Thanks all.
