I had one testis removed for chronic pain after a real 'comedy of errors'. The other is atrophied and will not be removed unless it causes pain or becomes gangrenous. I have to have regular testosterone implants to keep my testosterone levels up, prevent gyaencomastia and also a side effect of low or extremely low testosterone which seems often forgotten - extreme tiredness - before the implants, my 'get up and go' had' got up and gone'!

There is one thing which I think is obvious, but I'll mention it anyway. You should get your sperm saved before total castration. I know you may be older and think you know you'll never have kids (again). But really, why not keep the option open? You never know when your spouse might pass on unexpectedly or divorce (I know a lot of guys who never saw that coming) and you end up a few years later with someone else who you might like to have kids with. There are some guys still having kids into their 70s; while I don't think that's a good idea, it is still a possibility that might come up in your life.
