It has been over a month

since the upload of 7/17

AND the "powers" removed this thread,

unless one searches.

Doesn't anyone have weather

to share?

For a month.

As "nice" as 92660 along the southern California

has been this year, the evenings take on a

"not usual" humidity.

As a "lunger" I don't like humidity

but, it has come back for days at this time.

Highs 75 - 76 F

Lows 65 - 67 F

For a month or more.

No storms. Not even a Santa Ana Wind event

So boring

ONLY YOU can help revitalize this thread.

OK, OK, OK! I will add my input from Arizona..... IT HAS BEEN HOT, way too hot, not "the hottest temp on record" (that was back in 2015 or 2004...) but damn HOT. The last three weeks of July and the first three weeks of August are the unbearably HOT time. It regularly gets to 105, sometimes 110 and even 115, but the daytime temps are not the worst of it, it is that it never gets below 85 at night. We are finally seeing a little but of easing up on the heat. So now I can almost get some sleep at night.

Every summer, since I was a child growing up here in Arizona, I have really hated the fact that my ancestors decided to settle down in Arizona, my grandfather was a telegraph operator for the Atchison-Topeka & Santa Fe railroad (now called the Burlington Northern & Santa Fe), he settled here in the late eighteen hundreds. The actor Andy Devine grew up here and our main street is "Andy Devine Avenue" (also known as "Old Route 66"). Growing up, I saw the pictures in books, movies, and on the TV, of other people living where there were TREES, and I knew in my heart that there are places where trees actually grow and survive and even thrive.... "they call those places 'forests' and someday you might get to go see them...." mother would tell me, in the meantime I had cactus, LOTS of very unpleasant cactus and nasty mean desert. I cannot understand WHY any sane human being would live here by choice... and yet here I am, by MY OWN CHOICE... Well Arizona can be sort of pleasant from October through May.

But for now, it is absolutely unbearable, today's high 99, Tuesday 103 is forecast. The only thing that makes it survivable is that the humidity is usually low, for me that is critically important as I only have a "swamp" (evaporative) cooler, NO air conditioning in my home.

Weather here has been pretty reasonable typical New England August.... However it has sucked for us because we are "temporarily homeless" for a couple of weeks... The floor tile in the only bathroom we can get to in our house has been failing for years, and the subfloor had finally rotted to the point where we were at risk of falling through... 😠

We got some emergency repairs done by our usual handyman, but then had to look for a contractor to do a more thorough job - demo the floor, fix the rot and sister the joists, then rebuild everything.... We seem to have found a really fantastic guy who is going WAY above and beyond to do a good and fast job, including working this weekend, and doing extra things like helping us move, and so on.... He looks like the job is on track to be done ahead of schedule, and on or possibly under budget! This is the kind of contractor that most people seem to dream about!

However we obviously can't live in the house w/o a functioning bathroom so have had to move to a nearby "Residence Inn" that would probably be pretty reasonable for most folks, but as a multi-disability couple is more than a bit like the "Hotel from Hell" even though we are in an "accessible" studio suite...

I can't get into the ultra high bed, and can't deploy the fold out sofa bed by myself (and there really wouldn't be room if I did) so I'm having to sleep on the sofa with soft cushions that is a lot lower than my chairs.... I can't really roll over, which makes it incredibly difficult to get dressed, and a terrible transfer to get in and out of my chairs... I've asked about getting blocks under the sofa to at least get the height more reasonable, and have been getting a bunch of pushback on that, but I may be getting the contractor to put the blocks that *I* made under it as the latest word I've gotten is that the hotel won't do it, but won't stop me if I do...

However it looks like only one week to go... Definitely hoping...

I was moved to Knoxville, TN in the early spring. For 9 weeks it started raining on Fri night / early Sat and quit Sunday night / Mon morning. When I left TN for beautiful Salome, AZ the forecast was sunny and hot for the next 6 months. Pick your poison.

Hello from the big island, Hawaii. Yes I have been away for 10 years but thought it was time to drop in and say HELLO.

I talk to Jesus a few times a month and he always keeps me up to date on important things.

Last week we had a typhon go by us, dropped 37 inches of rain in 2 days. My yard is still a mud pit. Been humid all week in the low 80's. Right now it 82 at 10:30 at night.

Well... what a surprise. Good to see you pop up. If you'd like to remain in touch as two of the er... more mature members of the forum, I'd be happy to exchange details in a PM.

Glad things are going well in HI, even if a bit muddy at the moment.

Hello old friend, yea, after 10 years I thought I would drop in for a while and say hello.

It has been an interesting 10 years, 4 mini strokes, the 4th one I actually went to the hospital for. I have also had a heart attack, Afib, the arteries are clean but my heart does like to race a bit. Type II is under control and the nephropy (sp) in my feet, they hurt all the time. So like all us old guys, I take a hand full of meds daily to keep everything moving.

As for Hawaii, I love it here, I am on the wet side of the island, it is a jungle everything is green all the time. It's shorts, t-shirt and slippers. (slippers = flipflops).

Hi Riverwind, I'm still around. I get tremors which greatly diminish what I can do. But I'm still here.
