It seemed to me that winter in the northern hemisphere has become a little milder :).

The Washington Post today has a very nice article about the trend of warming in areas across the United States. There is a large color-coded map and the ability to insert individual cities to get local data. For example, for Eunuch Central in Minneapolis, we're told that "Winter in Minneapolis, Minn.warmed 0.43°F per decade since 1980" You can easily check your own regions. My city, for example, has warmed 0.21°F per decade since 1980. There's a great text that goes with it, too.

Winter is warming almost everywhere

Am in Toronto for an annual conference I try to make when I can. I have been coming for 15 years off and on. Usually I freeze my ass off and the area around the CNN tower can be closed for giant falling icecles. This year no snow. It was 41 today.

Is the Southern California drought ended?

Days of drizzle. No "gully washers"

Near record highs here in the south/central IN/IL region. I had daffodils up and budding on Feb. 20th or so, but they are next to the house and get heat off the siding. The dwarf iris have bloomed. Coming week looks nice, so I might get a jump on cleaning up the yard.
