Threats of summer have relented under a front. Stormy yesterday. Windy, blowing sand around Yuma yesterday. Today in the mountains is like a nice spring day in east Tennessee with showers. We are supposed to get a couple of days like this, but Big Summer like death is inevitable.

We're looking at another big swing in temps here again.

FREEZE

No wonder we're all still sick! And of course, more rain and another line of damaging winds to cope with.

Hardly a range of 50F - 72F between low / high.

2 rain events barely = 1.5"

Better than last year but, No March Miracle as happens

Apricot did not fruit well, updates as they happen

Pecan beginning to leaf. Mulberry ? ? ? will it fruit?

Maybe 50F today, ~30F last night, and ~70 tomorrow.

As a scene from one of my favorite movies says: "G-D winds have got everyone on the f'ing rag!"

And some of these lunatic board members here have got youth league baseball starting up this weekend!

The heck is wrong with these people???

Baseball is a SUMMER sport!

I say just hose down the field, let it freeze over, and switch over to ice hockey. We've certainly got the climate for it, almost year-round now.:-|

Hell, here in Minnesota, spring, summer, and fall hockey is done on foot, or on roller blades. It don't stop. Some of them use pucks, a lot use tennis balls, etc. As long as they are having fun, who cares whether it is on ice or not.

May Gray may have begun.

It leads to June Gloom and the

longer it lasts, the longer I don't

need no A/C. I am intolerant to heat.

Maybe a dozen apricots ripening on

the old, Royal Apricot.

A larger than usual Black Bird frequents

my bird bath. Sometimes washing food.

Sometime drinking

IS IT A CROW OR RAVEN?

Highs of 72, lows of 50 this week. I'll take it.

At one time I was building a fence around my front yard. Somehow I became aware that a raven (big black bird) was hanging around the street in front of my house. One day I went out and held out a gloved hand and he put his beak around it like play biting a dog will do. Then he began perching on the fence vertical 4X4s. One time I went up and he had his head tucked in his wing like sleeping. I petted him and he purred like a cat. Then he like owned the joint. He hopped once in the front door. I had to tell the dogs NO! and they left him alone. Then he was gone. I heard some little neighborhood boys were pestering him like little assholes will do and he pecked at one. Mom called Fish and Game and under the Little Asshole Protection laws they captured him. Personally, I prefer the raven. They enjoy flying and can put on a good show.

If they don't change their minds, summer is about to hit us here like a runaway truck with highs near 90F next week.

It's like I've said, we have two seasons now: winter and summer. Well, four if you were to include "devastating winter" and "Sahara wannabe" summer!
