Why don't you take your arrogant self, open up Google in a browser window, look up a site which will convert it for you, then do a conversion to the backwards system of measurement which only the USA and Liberia use. It's not that hard.
On a side note, the windchill noted is nearly the same in Centigrade or Fahrenheit (-40 is interchangeable), which you would know had you remembered your basic measurement courses from the 5th grade.
Historical measurements furlong, firkin and fortnight. Speed of light = ~1.8 tetrafurlongs per fortnight.
Jimmy Griffith Snow Index is a measurement in consumed beers for a predicted snowstorm in unfortunate places like Indiana, Maine and Minneapolis. Unfortunately it is not a linear measurement, but on average 1 can = 4” of snow so a Griffith six pack would be two feet of predicted snow.
Sheppey – distance from which sheep are still picturesque = about 7/8 miles (oops, sorry, 1.4 kilometer). Obviously devised by a herder.
Linat is a unit of bogasity (how bogus a person or claim is). The unit is too large for normal people and applied only to politicians or preachers. Microlinat is used for normal people.
Blatt – measure of body odor. Named for a computer hacker who got so involved in what he did that he rarely bathed.
Lovelace - unit of lack of quality in an operating system. Derived from the universal rule that software that does not suck does not exist.
Steven Hawking Index is the percentage of people for a particular book who start it and actually finish it. Hawking’s “A Brief History of Time” measured 6.6.
These examples should inspire each of us to devise new units of measure, metric system be danged. For example, I banged around South America long enough that I learned to take local buses and go to more remote places for the experience. When there were other Caucasians present, they were always German, either evangelicos or nudists. Up on the altiplano when you drive up to a lake bed salar, those pink dots as you get closer might be flamingos or they might be German nudists. Therefore, a großenschwanz – the distance from which German nudists are still picturesque.
Clearly there is a need in life for units of measurement that are not part of a coherent system, are inexact and have inconvenient multiples, as the ultimate intellectual source Wikipedia explains. If you look at the operative words – not coherent, inexact and inconvenient – and in the spirit devising new terms of measurements, I propose a unit for Eunuch Archive posts which meet those standards –
And let's not forget the South Park episode, "More Crap", with the "European Fecal Standards and Measurements" office, headquartered in Zürich, Switzerland. The institute concludes Randy Marsh has the world record poop, weighing in at 8.6 courics – a fictional measurement unit (approximately 2.5 pounds or 1.1 kilograms) named after journalist Katie Couric.
Now, back to our regular thread. It has warmed up a little. I don't put on a jacket at 6 am to take out garbage or get paper. Cool and crisp in afternoon. Skies are like autumn with wispy cirrus against blue.

Ohh mannn. Spitting rain and snow this weekend. Wonder if River wants a roomie.
A while ago, River was worried about lava flow from the volcano cutting off the road to his town but he apparently survived that. Even with that, it would certainly beat Minnesota winters.
