For the last several days it has been 104 in Southern California. Today we got a slight break - it was only 100 - LOL

What a wuss-assed temperature range. Real eunuchs live on the Altiplano where the range can be 30 deg. and the sunny side of the street is hot while the shady side is cold or down on the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon where you are alternatively baked or chilled, depending if the wind is coming off the river water or canyon walls.

I melt in heat.

My second winter in Milwaukee taught be I am not designed for cold

as my finger joints got visibly red and swollen. I was "over dressed"

and kept my home warm. The cold has a way to creep in.

Residual childhood asthma makes me feel like I'm drowning when it is humid.

For Me, The Desert By The Sea is the place to be.

Otherwise I would opt for Humboldt County, Eureka / Arcata area.

The air is so clean and the weather moderate as fog / rain/ clear sky moves in in 10 minutes or appears in 10 miles. Fog, mist, rain is not like humidity.

It's been warm and dry for the past couple days here... Although the last of Hurricane Barry is storming tonight, right now, near midnight Tuesday.

This weekend is headed to the 90's and sunny.

It's summertime in July (not a strange occurrence at all)

Been in the mid 90s most of the last 5 days, with very high humidity. Miserable. Can't breathe in that shit. Looks like it will be the same going into next week. Too soon for a prediction for the week of the MoM.

Fargo is about a five hour trip. Duluth on Lake Superior is about 3 hours. Duluth would likely be cooler than Fargo - North Dakota usually gets all our heat before we do. OTOH my AC unit has been running for 10 days now; I expect it will next week too.

According to the Weather-guesser (a type of shaman), the highs should be in the low 80s and lows in the mid 60s during the MoM. No rain is predicted. We can hope....

Are you still in Southern California?

The trick of Southern California is to live within

line of sight to the ocean. You don't need ocean front and it is often cooler on a line of sight hill a mile inland. Elevation counts.

Significantly more moderate weather than on the other side of a mountain range

as most of south, Orange County.

I have a corner lot with lots of gardening space

and at age 71 have the goal of making it habitable for 29 years.

The only other place I might choose to live is coastal Humboldt County.

As mentioned above. Eureka / Arcata and some areas just south.

Minimal season variation and you wear flannel shirts, water proof shoes, and rain gear as needed. People dress in layers.

No forecast heat appeared here.

Same, same, wonderfully the "same".

Some corn is ripening as new ears appear. Never saw corn like this.

The seeds were big like "corn nuts" but, the one ear harvested seems normal

on a giant plant.
