Re: There's Always The Weather
I like to learn how our EA acquaintances in Northern CA are making out with the wild fires. Hope you are all safe and haven't experienced any property damage. Jesus, LT, others?

Re: There's Always The Weather
It Rained !

About 2 " over 6 hours.
Pretty steady with minimal pauses and changes in intensity.
I cannot remember such a warm, non thunderous, heavy rain.
Yes the atmosphere is still too warm and humid
But I forgive it because it delivered, some rain.

I Bet MacWolfLand has some new shallow lakes!

Re: There's Always The Weather
It was 96 here in southern California today. Hot but far better than triple digit weather.

Mac, if you guys in California got the rain storm we have had in the last 24 hours you would not be rationing water and your fires would all be out. 6.9 inches. I love living in a jungle it changes daily, don't go down a road for a month and it looks totally different. Nice 80 deg day today humidity not to high, and rain OMG rain so hard you can't see 50 feet and more rain. For the first time in months I had to use my umbrella, I have a couple in the car just in case, well today was the case. We were all happy it did not rain yesterday, Hilo finally had its Gay Pride Parade, yes I know the rest of the world had it the first week in July we had ours yesterday. The guy who was in charge should be taken out and ....... hopefully next year he will do it the same week as everybody else in the world.
Then there is this volcano we have, biggest one in the world, Mouna Loa is rumbling, but were safe were I am, yes its even fun living next to an active volcano as well as on one.
That's about it from the big island.
Aloha

Re: There's Always The Weather
It's been raining here too. I'm sitting here in sight of 5 volcanos of which 3 are steaming from time to time. One erupted (about 40 miles from here) a few years back and covered us with a half inch of ash. What a mess. Any good places to stay cheaply down there for a week or so? We can get direct flights. It's starting to freeze and get cold here. We had some great Northern lights the last few nights. We're do for some snow.

We get snow here too, beautiful to look at, it even snowed this last July. Snow is something to go to and play in, if you need to shovel it to get your car out of the driveway then you are living way to close to it.

Re: There's Always The Weather
Three years ago we had 13 feet of snow. Ran out of places to put it. Last year we got 1 foot. No problem. Think that's global warming? Not here. We don't have summers.

This is why I use public transit and do not have a car (along with the whole traffic and parking space situation here).
