Re: There's Always The Weather
Bad spring rains today and into the evening.
A storm that radar determined had circling winds. . . somewhat to my south, more near the state line with WV than near Washington PA. Circling winds are the sign of near tornado activity.
Western PA is almost to hilly to have a tornado but there's straight line wind damage all over the area tonight as thunderstorms rode all around that storm.
It rained so hard in one neighborhood of the City of Pittsburgh (near Highland Park) that flood gates lowered automatically, summoned police, and stopped traffic. It's a big 4 lane road at the bottom of a valley and several years ago, flooded so badly in a hard rain that people died in their cars.
But every spring, we have thunderstorms and bad winds.

Re: There's Always The Weather
Stay safe my friend.
Today is has rained hard all day, now with the sun going down the sky is starting to clear, for the first time in several days I can see the ocean from where I sit altho when I look out the other window I still can't see the mountain, its been overcast in that direction for 6 weeks.

Re: There's Always The Weather
The News is a Warm Blob of Sea Water sits off the California coast and is expected to be our drought reliever.
Later this week we are looking at chances of showers. Late in the year for such occurrences and nothing really measurable is expected.
If the Warm Blob remains come say, November - we might truly have a drought buster in progress.
http://www.cbsnews.com/news/could-the-b ... s-drought/
Could "the blob" be the solution to California's drought?
Something scientists call "the blob" could be the drought-buster California has been waiting for. "The blob" may be coming, but not soon enough." etc. etc.
Yet other articles blame the Blob for the California drought.
What do Scientist know? Really. Just maybe yes, maybe no.

Re: There's Always The Weather
It's winter here again, at least to me.
Expected low of 33F Wednesday night, and all it's done is rain.
We had one good day, Saturday, and that was it.

Re: There's Always The Weather
The days of 5 to 20 % chance of rain yielded, "rain" last night.
Around 10:30 AM I looked outside and noticed the ground was wet and a lite rain was falling, okay - maybe just a drizzle but certainly more than Oregon Mist.
The rain gutters were dripping and my rain gauge, estimates 1/8".
Now here is the suspicious part.
When I checked the "interactive radar" there was no record of this precipitation while I watched it come down.
Sometimes, the "interactive radar" showed light rain while the ground was bone dry.
Why isn't the "interactive radar" showing me my rain? It no doubt serves the drought parrots to deny Moi full information regarding precipitation. No doubt.
You gotta a better explanation ?
