Those weathermen acting all giddy with the promise of rain, not drizzle, were suckered again by the

<doom> Federals <Darth Vadar breath sounds>

and their Weather Bureau.

Last nights storm barely left a wetness at the bottom of my rain guage.

Tonight's storm promised to be the bigger of the two, seems to be likewise - drying up - on the way to Orange County, California.

The wind. So much cold wind all day long with no clouds.

The Good News.

My iddy biddy Peters Honey Fig that came in a quart of soil, sprouted 3 fruits. I did put it in a bigger growth pot.

It stands about 4' tall or a bit less and has some leaves too.

I am going to make a guess we have gotten 2 to 3 inches in the 24 hours, its Hawaii.

The second and bigger rain event came though late last night.

Maybe a whole 1 / 16th of an inch, if that much. The bottom of the rain gauge had barely enough to puddle.

The wind is from the West and cold and strong. Not pleasant at all in a cloudless sky.

Today it has been beautiful here on the big island, warm, sunny, a slight breeze, rain finally stopped. Woof Woot because The catch system is full.

It's winter here again. Below freezing, and chance of snow flurries.

Wow, your eclipse happens earlier than my eclipse.

Humidity is not ideal for viewing y'know. Dry air is preferred.

The moon has risen, :-\ or arisen, (Dave which is it and why) and it is

bright, large, round, yellow. Still 2.5 hours to eclipse commencement.

Regarding Humidity; Are there any lungers around you? COPD. Asthma/Bronchitis.

How do they breathe ? I would be feeling like i was being water boarded in such "warm" humidity.

We've had a warm up by ten degrees in one day. 80F by the seaside.

And dry, dry, atmospherics that should make eclipse viewing more optimally better, optically.

I planted one more little asparagus plant in my area dedicated to the A-Patch in a vegetable box.

From the ferny stuff a few veggie like shoots have shot up and branched. Really interesting life cycle. More to learn.

The three back yard peach trees are trying to crack some blossoms but, mostly remain dormant while the front yard one and nearby apricot tree are full of little fruits.

I also have 3 "Sugar Prune Plum" trees that need planting. I have been searching for them for years. New treasures.

It should be like the Italian Prune Plum with less chill hour requirements.

The Fuji Apple is breaking bud, No Not that kind of bud

and the Boysenberry & Blackberry and possibly some Raspberry patch is full of small fruits and more flowers.

I planted it between the sidewalk and the street where it is easier to contain because it does like to take over.

Believe it or not, thornless ones were seen at the Nursery. The fruit can't be that good without thorns.

Of the sweet shelling peas only 5 vines have survived and are growing inches longer a day. I like peas but, never successful.

This old Strawberry planter jar in my yard finally got filled with soil and 12 strawberry plants around its sides. They all made it.

I was surprised because of the way I had to push and squish the roots into the planter areas.
