It rained here night before last, finally.

Saved the peaches. Five years ago, the kids next door brought us 2 purple-leafed flowering peach trees that grow like weeds. They fruited this year, heavily.

They produce ping-pong ball sized peaches, white flesh, juicy, semi-sweet but have large pits.

They're good, though.

The paw-paws are beginning to ripen, too. I had 1 today and 2 will be ready tomorrow.

The volunteer late apple trees are coming on, but it was not the year for the old heirloom red volunteer tree.

Disappointed in that I've found no fall mushrooms yet, either. I'd love to find a good giant white puffball, but it's been too dry. (think tofu).

What a summer we have had with temperatures in the 80s all summer and no rain for almost 2 months

Been picking tomatoes since July 4th

Eating everything from the garden like beans and corn

Started the fruits with strawberries then blueberries then raspberries then blackberries

Peaches went fast this year they only lasted 3 weeks now we are into plums and pears but no apples this year they didn't set for some reason

Summer is over and the rains are beginning now.

Here the corn is just now being harvested and it was not a bumper year at all, normal is to pick corn Aug 1 not Sept 1st, my tomatoes never ripened just rotted on the vine, we did not get any hot weather all summer, except for the two weeks just ending in the high 90's and now back in the 60's last week to this, its been a very bad year for growing anything, the few tomatoes we got, Beef steak were only about 1.5 inches in diameter.

We never had a spring this year, we had snow on the ground May 5th and it was 99 on May 25th, then it cooled and stayed that way, no rain all summer even the grass is brown, first time I have ever seen that in the 10 years I have lived up here.

So for you lucky people that had a good crop this year enjoy it, it does not always happen.

Next year I have no idea how my tomatoes will grow, I am not even sure they will grow

in Hawaii.

It stayed cool, dank and wet here up until June, then still wet.

The first plantings mostly rotted or froze, and the second ones never got any heat either until August.

Then the rain stopped, and it all burned up.

Tomatoes here too just rotted green on the vine.

Cucumber plants were pathetic, the fruits small. Same with other squash and melons.

The pepper plants just wouldn't grow, either.

Overall, a bad year here too.

It's after midnight and I am really, really hyper.

Really ! I do not like it. Too hyper to medicate feeling.

Like the hyperness wins out.

Especially

Like that "earthquake" weather feeling on a hot, still night

with that special something in the air.

😱
