There's Always The Weather

We got a lot of rain, too, but the storms are both patchy and intense. All in all, it has been a nice summer so far. Cool, NOT intensely hot, but it is keeping poor Paolo in long sleeves and a windbreaker, if not a sweatshirt with a hood. It IS hot enough to swim, if you are serious about it.

The ponds and lakes are all high and full, but not unusually high and full. It is just a nice summer compared to the meteorological trip to Sun valley and the city of Phoenix we got all summer last summer. It is a welcome change to me.

So can somebody explain to me why my Gay grandson is bringing all of the gorgeous, beautiful, young girls to swim? Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining, but I do not understand. The women seem to cling to the little shit like glue.

...I never had that problem, it was always a seek and conquer thing with me...

...maybe I am just too old. This younger generation mystifies me... just when I thought that I understood it all...

Like with my wife, you chase them until they "CATCH" you... Yes, I remember it well... and I am NOT complaining...

Perhaps that is why the all girls at work all like me... and here I thought it was just the grey hair...

The air today was almost Autumn-E.

Cooler, and a clean smell in the air with a hazy sky.

My bargain basement peach tree is also showing autumn changes in its' leaves and dropping them.

I have heard other gardeners comment that everything happened early this year.

I expect true Summer to return regardless of how the plants think

The Boysenberries seem finished for the year and the Blackberries are ripening up. Again, seems early.

I placed a bird net over the berry patch and actually get to enjoy some sweet ripe ones now.

Mine is not nearly as exciting as those red confluences moving eastward toward the Atlantic coast.

BTW why would corn start to "fruit" when only 2 - 3 feet tall.

Corn grown best when its in a big plot of land, the outside stocks often do not grow as tall or fruit like the center of the field. This is because of pollination, those in the center get more pollination then those on the edge.

I suspect that Moi has a couple rows of corn, when he should have 50 rows of corn.

I have grown it before.

Yummy, sweet, tender corn I eat fresh in the yard after picking, cleaning and tossing the tip of the ear with the worm off into the distant yard.

It has been a weird year yet bountiful but, early fruiting and even a scent of Autumn before August. My ranch buddy and I just shared that observation some ten minutes ago on the phone.
