96 at the moment, 13 degrees cooler than earlier. I escaped most of the heat by napping from 2:00 to 5:30

nothing better then an afternoon nap, screw the 20 minute power nap, its a 2 to 3 hour nap - just like when we were little kids but I regress.

It rained again last night. Imagine that.

I was standing in the garden and realized, this peach tree has gotten quite tall.

No, I had sunk up and over my ankles in the mud.

It could be worse, my basement floods, the landlord runs the hose out the window out into the yard where it returns to the basement to be pumped out again, this has been going on for over a month, the back yard is a swamp and so is the basement. The hose coming off the pump blew and it sprayed water into the electric panel so I had half of my electric out until it was fixed and dried out.

Solution by my next door neighbor and I, first the maintenance man said they needed to run a pipe out of the building, we added that the hose should be brought around the front of the house and out front over the circle drive into the grove of trees which is lower then the rest of the property and the water will not go back into the basement. Today, actually right now they dug a trench across the dirt road and laid a pipe with the hose through it then covered it all with gravel so we have our circle drive back. Hopefully the basement will stay relatively dry from now on.

The little girl that lives next door now has a built in mud puddle to play in, for joy.

Ah, the mud puddle. The joy of childhood.

I remember the rain gutter in summer, too. It served as a shower during downpours.

It's a wonder I survived childhood.

The heat is not the issue here, but that humid monsoonal air causing all the grief plus heat for others.

Spill over from the monsoonal air usually reserved for southern Arizona.

Last Summer started this way and was an extremely buggy summer and a poor one for veggie gardens.

🙅 this is NOT Moi's desert by the sea.

Also, this heat is associated with a barometric low, usually our heat is a barometric high.

If there has to be heat, better it be 🚬 <high> don'chyknow. Barometer 29.8" near sea level.

The bright side is it isn't over 30.0", that can be so heavy to walk around in. :-\

Still picking a few Cherry tomatoes (yummy sweet) a day and peaches to give away.

As of 12:25 pm it's only 90 degrees. So, if it's 19 degrees cooler than the other day, why am I still melting.

The Barometer heralded the fresher, cooler air having bumped up to 29.9" although the sky is unchanged. Hazy to gray.

Neither humidity or heat requires my A/C today.

It is my understanding I remain on an island of cool surrounded by heat.

I gave some peaches to kids at a lemonade stand across the street. They dribbled. The peaches were Dribbily delicious.

The neighbors all think I am such a good gardener. I always respond they haven't seen my failures.

About ten days ago the Loquat tree was severely hacked back like a rose bush and it has a zillion new buds coming out of the bark. Amazing tree. My northern Mexican call the fruit, nispero. My more southern Latins are not familiar with the fruit.

A hazy, lazy, fresh air, day you know where :D

Moi

I need a blueberry bush.

It was beautiful here, in the mid 80's wonderful day to be outside visiting friends, having a BBQ and it looks like tomorrow and the rest of the week will be the same.

Woot woot.
