Has summer finally arrived? 86F here today! But then rain again tomorrow, and the next day...

Got Weather?
Someone's Gotta
I wouldn't call mine, "weather" compared to some. I picked my first Royal Apricots,
Yummy, Yummy, Yummy. Picked a few tomatoes.
All this under a typical, June Gloom like we haven't had for two years. Cool, crisp, gray while a few miles away it is 100F. The last two years had a June Gloom mixed with humidity.
My corn is 3-4 inches high, will it be knee high by the fourth?
Now I know some of YOU are having bragging weather considering
http://news.yahoo.com/state-state-look- ... 03928.html
PENNSYLVANIA (Daveland)
The entire state of Pennsylvania remains under a flood watch overnight and through the day Thursday. Weather service officials say the greatest risk of flooding is in the northern portion of the state, while the worst thunderstorms are expected in southern areas. Officials say a standby worker was added at the emergency operations center in Harrisburg and officials had ensured two National Guard helicopters were ready if needed for water rescues.
WISCONSIN (EALand)
A partial roof collapse at a Wal-Mart in Lake Delton left two employees with minor injuries as heavy rain and high winds spread across southern Wisconsin. Tornado warnings were issued for several southwestern Wisconsin counties. Weather service officials said wind gusts in a couple areas were clocked at 60 mph. Street flooding was reported in parts of the village of Boscobel in Grant County.
MINNESOTA (EALand)
A storm dumped heavy rain to parts of southern Minnesota on Wednesday morning, including nearly 3.25 inches at Hutchinson airfield. Madison, in far western Minnesota, recorded a wind gust of 65 mph. No significant damage was reported. Hail estimated at 1.75 inches fell near Wells and Freeborn in southern Minnesota.
MICHIGAN (Macland)
The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has issued a severe thunderstorm and flash flood watches for parts of southwest Michigan and counties near the Indiana state line. Officials say 1 to 3 inches of rain could be dumped on parts of southwest Michigan within a couple of hours.
There is Iowa, Indiana and Illinois too. I think Paololand is somewhere amongst those I's.
I mean weather is feeling the element.
Can you feel the elements there? Can you get online

Re: There's Always The Weather
Out here in flyover country we determine the start of Summer by either the first day it hits 100 or the first time some place in the state is declared a Federal Disaster Area due to tornadoes. Yesterday we rang the bell, hit 100 and so it's now Summer. But we were lucky, West of here, places were setting records for highs in some cases. eclipsing the old ones by two or three degrees which doesn't sound like much until one remember the old record was 109. Today is said to be a more "seasonable" 91. Where is that "seasonable"? Hell?

Aside from the fact that I could hear thunder half the night and see the lightning and that the two sets of storms kept disturbing my beauty sleep... There were two sets of thunderstorms -- one at 2:30 AM and the other near 4am... THe first moving at 25mph and the second moving at 40mph. yes 40 mph... 1 to 2 inches of rain did not cause flooding. A few thousand lost power but all are restored by now.
We are under a Severe Drizzle Watch all day today, just in case.

Re: There's Always The Weather
It has been a wonderful June Gloom.
A nice, soft, comfy gray with just enough hour of sunlight.
Even threats of drizzle.
That is all due to change with a heat up over the next day or two.
A high pressure with a weightier more oppressive atmosphere is moving in.
The barometer is 29.91", I so hope is stays under 30" :-\
Both yellow and white Babcock peaches are ripening. I like the ones that fall off
the tree the most. Cut away the bruise and bite marks and they are the sweetest & juiciest.
Beginning to harvest some white onion. The small ones seem strong, the big ones not so much.
Corn about 4 inches high competing with some sweet shelling peas of the same height.
Survival of the tastiest.

100 here. I've left instructions for the weeds, the ones that survived the drought the last three years, be cut. At least it gives the illusion of a green lawn and they're far healthier than Kentucky Blue or Merion Bent.
Re: There's Always The Weather
If this rain keeps up and it's this cool all summer, you may have to come over and get some of my surplus tomatoes, A-1.

Re: There's Always The Weather
HEAT ALERT !
Thursday thru Tuesday
80F or a tad above for me
Over 110++F a few miles inland.
Mac da Wolf is in the real alert target cross hairs.
Is this the end of June Gloom 2013?
Applying lots and lots of imported water to my
green, green lawn, and veggie boxes, and fruit trees.
