Got a foot of snow, trees are heavy with snow, the bird bath is a foot high in snow, the landlord was plowing snow for a couple hours, I love winter.

I get a foot of snow here, there's going to be an evergreen tree laying across the bottom of my drive halfway into the street.

North of Pittsburgh and slightly west and north -- those two quadrants got light snow and the radar shows it gone.

I gotta go out tomorrow. Rats.

I hate snow.

You know I think its has something to do with were your from. I was born and raised in LA, no snow sometimes rain Jan 1st average temp 70deg

I got so excited when I got to buy my first snow shovel, it was in St Louis in 1995 I still have it and used it yesterday. To me this is not a job that just comes every year that I have had to do sense I was a Kid, this is NEW its fun, its, well yes it is a pain in the ass but its still NEW and FUN.

I think if I had lived here my whole life I would most likely own a snow blower or plow, many of my neighbors have them and clean their drives out to the road, but me I only need to clean a walk of about 30 ft, done. Did I say its still NEW and FUN?

Now if I could get that lazy kid that lives next door to shovel some snow for me................................................

New Fun,

River

According to records, Chicago has gone 282 consecutive days without measurable snow.

Des Moines Iowa is as bad with 277 days without measurable snow.

And Lincoln Nebraska is suffering with 302 days yada yada yada

What have you guys done to piss off Mother Nature. I mean, to deny the little kiddies their snow? JEepers! Gosh. Golly Whizzies...

Did you build snowmen with genitals?

Did you fondle a Robin Red Breast last spring and then break her heart?

Not plant enough hickory trees for the squirrels?

I mean seriously DUDES and Dudettes -- did you try to date Mother Nature and then break up on twitter?

Or maybe kicked a cat and now Mother N is coming back and spanking you?

That's it, insufficient cat treats...

Now you have to go out and do blood sacrifice to Mother Nature -- naked and with a bonfire...

And not in bondage leathers because that would be a bond fire and Mother N doesn't like to see your flabby and wrinkled ass in leathers from COWS.

;)

Rupert who is no longer allowed outside likes to try and sneak out when Nelly goes out. I always catch him and he complains but he really does not want to be out there, at least not this time of year.

Yesterday he followed the dog and I out to the porch, I opened the door inviting him to go out, he sniffed the air, did this shiver and bolted back into the house. I guess 19 deg was just to cold for the little guy.

Crisp sweater weather and a whole quarter of an inch of rain.

Most of the surrounding areas got more and there is snow in the mountains nearby.

I ❤️ this time of year.

Consider:

Within 100 miles if not less one can find

the ocean, coastal plains as basins inset from the ocean and valley separated off by a sharp young mountain range like traversing Topanga Canyon Rd., Crown Valley Parkway or Laguna Canyon Rd.

Near Alpine mountains because I would not quite call them Alpine. They do thaw. High desert and low desert.

And lots of mini, "foothill" ranges.

All in such a small radius.

This time of year is when "they" thrive until the Spring/Summer dessication. The only thing we really lack are hard wood forests. A great time of year from the desert to the sea and all of Southern California.

Took the dog out last night and saw about 6 or 7 Geminid meteors. Froze my ass off. Almost shit my pants when a deer went bumbling through the woods right next to the yard. No sign of Planet X / Nibiru. Came back in for some hot decaff and went to bed. Now it's about 50F again. The mustard and lettuce plants refuse to die, and there are still little 'lawn flowers' blooming here and there. I really hope this winter turns out like the last one, but I don't want another ice storm.
