Lawnmowers? Not much use for them this year. Do a rain dance for us.

Paolo wrote: Mon Aug 06, 2012 10:49 am The radar looked promising the other night. I was hoping we got some of that messy looking system! i am just in awe of the green grass, healthy crops, and lively trees up here. Even green weeds growing along the road. I even saw people out using lawnmowers!

Hell, I mowed my lawn on Monday evening. Thursday it needed mowing again. Of course, that means mosquitos (Minnesota state bird) - didn't get a chance to spray folks. Sorry!

CBS News reported the weather at Gale Crater, Mars

looks good for a landing.

My weather is so very boring. Sunny. 70'sF

I am going to plant more sweet corn in my garden box.

The figs ripen, etc.

Wanted: Brisk Fresh Salty Sea Breeze around 60F with filtered sun, and some rain anytime.

I am out in my front yard, doing minimal work, as is my style

hand watering here and there. Without a breeze, suddenly I experience perspiration.

My scalp and hair became wet and my shirt threatening.

I hurried inside and turned the A/C to a comfortable dehumidified 68F.

The humidity is the same as the humidity has been. About 60% with a temp of 80F.

There is something more at work then just humidity and temperature, even in the shade.

Monsoon weather is really sucky.

I share this safe, inside and the A/C has turned itself off.

Where is my desert weather?

I guess if one is stuck in north countries, stories of the tropics sound idyllic.

Give me a watered desert by the sea, any day.

Wolfie is on the other side of the mountains from me.

On the road to Palm Springs. The desert.

Usually dry heat. I do believe he is now treated to monsoonal influences too.

Maybe. It just doesn't feel as hot when it is your address. Nah ;)

We got 1.25" of rain last night, with a lot of wind and lightning. There were at least 3 strikes very near the house and 1 tree to be heard splitting somewhere.

The Scotch pines planted 10 years ago down the way are all dead. I've lost 2 young white pines in the yard. Probably won't know until next spring how many of the large tulip poplars didn't make it.

At least I get one night off from watering the garden, and the canna lilies get a reprieve and a chance. I lost almost all my hostas, and it will be interesting to see how many of the lily of the valley survived. The paw-paw trees and persimmons have all dropped their fruits, and it was going to be a good year for them, too. All the late season apples have dropped as well. They called for 88 or so yesterday. It got up to 102...

It rained yesterday and the day before yesterday, looks like rain today, 1.5 inches so far.
