It tried to rain today, I could feel raindrops but none of it hit the ground.

Last year was pretty brutal, we should be ok this year but its DRY, grass is still mostly green, but not for much longer unless we get some rain.

no rain for 4 weeks now

that is a normal summer in Oregon...rain stops in may and does not return till September or October

we rely on stored water and irrigation during the summer months...lots of water diverted from the Columbia river as melting snow from mt hood replenishes it all summer

update...

warmed to 88 today

my pumpkins were wilting in the heat....turned on the irrigation box...will need to irrigate spring wheat and clover this week

heading out to move the water in the pumpkins

my daughter in Massachusetts said they are finally getting some rain...they have been on water rationing for a month.

Aren't those temperature a little warm for Washington State?

now to answer your question, one summer with no rain and 100 plus degree temp does not mean were in global warming, Greenland melting does not mean were in global warming, the Russians running tour boats to the North Poll in the summer does not mean were in global warming, the oceans rise of almost 4 inches on the east coast does not mean were in global warming, that scientist have explained why were in a global warming and that its man made does not mean were really in global warming, just ask MOI.

I love how the global warming deniers get all silent when we have record high heat waves in the summer.

Just wait until the first flake of snow falls in the winter. There will be fifteen Climate Change Deniers standing around watching that one flake drift to the ground. "See, see. Snow in the winter! So much for global warming, huh?"

Then they all congratulate themselves on proving climate change wrong, while the one lonely snowflake melts on the pavement.

I believe the climate is changing.

I noticed that summers were "different" back in in 1978, when I was 11. It was the first summer I got a week or more off from mowing the lawn - because it died. We had to start watering the garden regularly. Of course, we've had cooler wet summers since. In 1997, it was 45F on July 4th at 10PM for the fireworks. But most summers have followed this trend since then - they get bad dry spells. We never lost the lawn or watered the garden before '78. Yes, some summers after we didn't have to, but most, we did.

Certain areas are getting warmer, yes. But not the whole planet at once. This is why I prefer 'climate change', which is a geologically evidenced fact. The Sahara wasn't always a desert, you know.

However, I do not agree with the idea that a new tax can fix it. It's just a scam to pull more money in for the government. What the hell they're using it for, who knows...probably more underground bases, more military spending, etc., while the rest of us suffer for it.

There is also evidence to show that the other planets are warming as well. If we had experienced the climate changes of Pluto or Mars lately, we'd be extinct by now - they've warmed and changed that much.

As to the cause?

A natural cycle of the planet, maybe even the solar system.

I do not believe the changes are man-made.

You are right, a tax will not fix it, the world needs to fix it and of the 240 countries in the world we don't all agree on how. Until all the countries are on the same page no tax will be needed, and by the time all 240 countries finally figure that this must be done it will be way past to late.
