Re: There's Always The Weather
We had weather today---
Sun in the morning and early afternoon, clouds in the late afternoon and evening and nighttime rains.
I suspect tomorrow has a 100% chance of the same -- rain and cloudy skies in the morning, sunny in the afternoon and then clouds and more rain at night and into Tuesday. Which is interesting because Tuesday still has a 100% chance of weather.
Nothing special, just ordinary weather.
What a bore for April...

Because of their government health program they do not let anyone immigrate.
Bravo N.Z. they have an immigration policy. What did your friend have to do to be "accepted"?
MoiWell, the last time, I spoke with him, he cursed prices for the internet access.
As for the "how" part... He worked as an electronic engineer (and a good one), so that fit into Essential Skills list.
He said that getting work permit and the visa (with all documents and so) took about a year. Do not remember exact amount of money that was required, but it was in order of 2-3 thousands USD if I remember correctly. He said that it mostly went into translating his diploma, and other documents, plus getting other required papers and exams.
Going back on topic, we had enough snow (for a day) to qualify for the blizzard thread

Re: There's Always The Weather
Did anybody watch the news about the tornado in Dallas Tx, a news chopper got pictures of semi-tailors being thrown around like they were nothing. Amazing stuff.
I wonder, oops wrong thread but I wonder if Pat Robertson has said anything about this, I wonder what Dallas did wrong to piss god off, so has anybody herd from this joker? Or does he make this statements only when disaster hits black populations?
I also wonder if Moi has enough pot stashed if there is a disaster in his area like a earthquake that leaves him without power and no way to leave his home for a week or two, does he have enough pot to get him through the disaster or will he be sitting in a corner staring off into space when they finally rescue him? I wonder.
Damn, wrong thread but I wonder sense were talking about the weather if I should leave this here or move it?
So much to ponder and I don't smoke so..............

I can testify from the posts here that the MEAT is rotten.
Has anybody tried just licking the juices,
...or is that all dried up and went sour?

MSNBC has been playing that clip all day. It's gray on gray and you have to look close you can see tractor trailers a couple hundred feet in the air coming out of the funnel and falling to the ground.
Very scary when it becomes apparent what is going high up in those funnel clouds.

Re: There's Always The Weather
I am amazed a helicopter pilot would stay airborne in such volatile weather.
Would tying down those semi-s help. My understanding is the wind is weakest closest to the ground. I was taught there is no 'uplift' in tornado winds. So once airborne objects have a lot more force carrying them then lifted them. I wonder
if those "new" horizontal tornadoes or a more oblique one might provide more lift then classically taught.
Lazy cozy air just perfect for napping. Even the garden seems too lazy to grow. Some critter, probably a raccoon, napped an avocado and left it by the hot tub. Not ripe. A few teeth marks. I placed it in a paper bag. I hear different stories. Avocados will, avocados will NOT ripen on the tree. What is the Board consensus?

Why do you think they called it, California

Not when the funnel part of the tornado hits the semi-s.
These were 135 mph winds.

Re: There's Always The Weather
Yes it would help
IF
you had pylons already in place that you parked the trailers between and enough time to put a net over each trailer and secure to the pylons, figure about 15 minutes per trailer.
They got a 5 minute warning,
Yea it works for me.
You see that's the problem, TIME, you don't have enough of it to secure anything.
When I was overseas we had a typhoon heading for us, all the planes left, all but one, its was down for maintenance, no parts, it was a cargo plane so no place to put it in a hanger, none were big enough, so they tied it to the ground, we had some warning so they had all day to do it, it weathered the storm just fine with only minor damage mostly from flying objects hitting it.

It's only going to be 60F here today. Back to the thermal underwear.
It was 91F according to the bank in town one day last week. I even took my hoodie off.

Re: There's Always The Weather
A cozy 75F with clean, breezy, well humidified atmosphere with a hint of ocean salt.
The sky has a high white fog that damps out the sun's intensity.
These afternoons I resists the yawning and naps but, still pace at 3AM for my good efforts.
I had some dry lettuce seed stalks on some ground I never us. Moving them I discovered sprouts. A new area to hand water.
The Federals claim we are gonna get some rain Wednesday and Friday. Dare I hope they are not lying again. Just to stay in practice if for no better reason.
3 thousand miles from the Federal City
