Re: There's Always The Weather
We are having the second warmest winter sense the 1880's, it was mid 40's today, I am in shorts and t-shirts. This is the warmest winter I have had in years. We have only had 3 times that the temp has gone below zero this winter. There is no snow on the ground, today my little dog stayed outside for an hour, just enjoying the outside and the sun even though it was 40 deg. We have only had 15 inches of snow this winter, one inch at a time and more then a week apart. I have yet to use my snow shovel, however I am suffering from hay fever and have been for a month, whats wrong with this picture?
It is going to be one hot nasty insect ridden muggy summer, I cant wait.

Hell I never use snow tires. If my all-seasons can't do the job, I ain't going anywhere. Saves about 500-600 dollars every other year (I drive 50K miles a year, so I change tires a lot).

Re: There's Always The Weather
Being without snow tires myself, I just figure out what the weather is going to do and then plan to stay off the road and be at home or else someplace within walking distance of it at times. Great excuse. I can't be everywhere I want to be in the first place anyway.

Anyone south of the Mason Dixon Line?
Looks like the ole CSA is getting the storm front usually reserved for Yankee country.
Forecast rain for Paradise, Center of the Universe fades before arrival.
Enough has been delivered in the north and mountains to pipe in my water.
Apricot tree is showing lots of perfumey blossoms. Cherry trees are stalled with a few.
Other trees seem to be stalled too. Bud formations just waiting.
Even though the climate has been easy,
it seems this winter has been hard on many.
Go figure. I can't.

Re: There's Always The Weather
Another rain storm. A bit over a tenth of an inch, I think.
Actually, maybe a whole quarter of an inch. The storm is finishing with that cold, heat sucking air feeling. The Cherry Trees seem stalled and the Apricot tree is dropping petals but, not showing fruit. More blossoming to come.
Isn't anyone experiencing a good storm?
Not a blizzard though, that goes on the Blizzard Thread.

Re: There's Always The Weather
March 3rd. It is warm and due to be a record buster tomorrow. 80F. Record 76F.
Dry air and pollution orange sunsets.
The apricot tree is near finished blossoming and no little fruits are to be seen.
Last year was so productive. The Cherry trees I expect to be the first ones to flower are still just coming alive. Mission Fig is popping out little baby figs and leaves. The loquats and avocado ripen. Planted some radish and carrot seeds.
It's too early for Spring. I haven't had enough Winter. I do love those short days.
So how's your weather doing. Got rain? Snow on the ground? Early blossoming?
You don't have to be allergic to a species of pollen for the total particulate count to get you down.
(I wonder
if castrating flowers would reduce excessive pollen count as well as over plantulation?)
