Just taken my first 150mg shot of DP

Not sure when to take a second, so many conflicting views here. Some say one a month is enough others say weekly at first, then go to monthly.

Any advice more than welcome

Simple, whenever you are hornier than you want to be, take a shot and wait one or two days and see if you are still too horny, or "hornier than you want to be." Short answer, whenever you get an erection, take a shot, wait a day or two, and see if you are even able to get an erection, whenever you get erect, take a shot, wait for that shot to take effect, etc...

GENERALLY, one shot was all i needed, and I clearly felt the effects within hours (NOT days later like some people say they needed). GENERALLY, one shot kept me feeling NOT horny for a month. For myself, I would take a shot whenever I could get an erection, and that was always after at least three or four weeks since my last shot - about once every two or three days I would try, really try to get erect (look at porn, fantasize, fondle myself), but every shot (1.5 cc) worked for me for at least three weeks. The longer you are on depo provera, the longer lasting each successive dose becomes effective.

It has been said a thousand times here in various ways, but it always comes down to "Your mileage may vary."

So you will probably never find a dosage guideline that says one shot on this day, and another shot on that day, etc.

IF, you are lucky enough to have a doctor tracking your T (testosterone) levels then great, obey your doctor's advice. If you are like most of us, like myself at least, then you are taking some very real risks and doing it on your own.... Well that is a bad idea, but I did it that way, and most everyone else I know did it that way.... So if you are doing it that way, I would caution you that like all drugs, depo provera has some side effects, please be careful.

That said, I do recall reading it in one place, that suggested the initial dose, and ONLY the initial dose for chemical castration purposes, should be two shots (ONE shot worked just fine for me though), and that successive doses should be available every two weeks at first and administered ONLY when needed. Usually successive doses will be longer lasting in their effectiveness, so eventually the chemical castration effect can be permanent after one year or so. Again, be careful, it could be permanent if you keep it going for too long, which might be what you want anyway, but be sure that is what you want.

I hope i get such quick results as you. Would be great to become impotent and less interested in sex over the coming weeks. I spend far too much time looking at porn, masturbating etc.

My chemical castration started with my wife administering two injections of Depo provera. This was followed in two weeks with another two injections. After two weeks a single injection was administered and thenit went to a single injection every 4 weeks. The effects for me were not quick acting I kept waiting daily to suddenly be impotent and didn't see much change. After a week or two, I forgot to pay attention and then about three weeks or so I noticed that I really wasn't horny anymore. After a couple years on an injection every 4 weeks, I had a testosterone test done and my blood level was just under 100- above the reference castrate level of 50 but well below the low side of normal my lab used which is 280.

I just looked in a drug handbook under the pharmacokinetics that the onset of Depo Provera when administered with IM injections is listed in "weeks" and the peak value is achieved in "months".

I think most have the best results using two injections to start with then go to a follw up injsection every two weeks. When you feel like it is working well, go to every three weeks or 4 weeks.

Don't forget, if you don't want your boobies to grow, you need to add an anti-estrogen like tamoxafin or it's generic equivilent which will also give you added benefits including even lower sex drive and reduced ability to get erections.

I've been on DP on and off for the past year (for financial reasons, haven't been able to keep with it consistently). For most men, the effect is slow-acting - it takes hold weeks after you put the first lot in (perhaps sooner if you start with two vials). When it takes hold properly, you won't have much interest in sex or fantasies or spontaneous erections. It lasts a few weeks before it starts to wear off gradually.

As you're in the UK, I'd recommend ordering them (I'm presuming you use Inhouse Pharmacy/Drugstore, right?) one vial at a time as the VAT and handling costs more than make up for the saving of buying two or three at a go (I've done the calculations). So I'd recommend ordering the second as soon as you put the first in, so it'll be there about two weeks later. Then go to monthly injections.

Thanks for the advice Humanfly. Into the third week now and noticing some of the effects already, less interest in sex, no spontaneous erections, morning or otherwise. Difficulty even getting half hard the last few days and doesnt last.

Good advice about ordering single doses to cut vat costs etc.

I took the second shot last thursday, 2 weeks after the first.

Had a few problems the first few days with very high blood sugar levels (type1 diabetes). Adjusted insulin dosage and seems to have settled down. Monitoring it more often just to make sure.

I started with one shot per fortnight, then, (and now) one shot per month is now ample. I think you will find out, once you've got it working, how much you need with a bit of experience. I reckon after nearly a year, I could go longer than a month but haven't tried that quite yet.

I am happy to tell that today i found a local pharmacy who was willing to let me buy my first dose of Depo provera 150. last few days i finally decited to start with depo injections, however discovered that inhouse wont ship to belgium.

I have it now and waiting for the right moment.

can somebody tell me ... is it working instantly ? I am planning to have one shot of 150 per month , and hope erections will stop and of course libido will stop too. not to mention sperm or orgasms.

Depo Provera is a very slow acting but persistant drug. Quoting from the pharmacokenitics in Lippincott's Nursing Drug Guide, the onset from IM doses is "weeks" with the peak level being "months". So don't expect anything real quick. My experience was that I kept waiting for effects to be felt and finally when I had kind of forgotten, its effects became visible.
