Re: Weather - Whats goin on
If one really believes humans are responsible for 'global warming' (which is actually climate change), we must reduce the population of planet earth. Thus we then require less cars, electricity, food, clothing etc.. So please castrate someone each day.

What science course did you take?
The old Eugenics that was discredited nearly 7 decades ago?
The population bomb you read in HS that didn't understand that food could be grown more efficiently.
How about a few episodes of genocide? Just nuke a few countries and that will end mankind causing global warming.
The climate is warming because of the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere is increasing and that CO2 in generated by civilization -- mostly transportation and electricity generation.
Of course you doubt the efficacy of science and side with the creationists and 7-day-ers that believe the earth started 6000 or 7000 years ago.
People once believed that the sun was a chariot that rode through the sky and lightning bolts were being thrown by some anthropomorphic creature. They never worried about global warming either. Just like the Dodo bird never worried about man being a predator.

Where I live at there hasn't been a day in the last month in a half where it was under 100 degrees (F) with the heat index......a few days ago it was 113 with heat index and 102 as the actual temp....been hellish this summer.

I Really shouldn't say much in here as I feel churlish and curmudgeonly tonight. However, the people who understand global warming will not say "It's HOT! Now do you believe in climate change?"
The right wing, will of course, remind you in the dead of winter that "it's so cold, there can't be climate change" which only displays their complete ignorance of all science.
I expect one day they will repeal the 2nd Law of Thermo and invent a perpetual motion machine. Or perhaps they will repeal gravity and fall off the face of the earth since they can't walk off the edge. That's as funny as it gets in my kingdom of nerds here. The palace slaves just brought cheetos.
I have been accuse of worshipping Einstein but to tell the truth, old and wrinkled isn't my fetish. It's not that I'm chicken-hawking here. Daniel Radcliffe has an ugly ass from what I've seen on the internet but then, a view from behind and below of the full moon with cherries and banana just can't be anyone's best angle.
General Relativity was just declared a liberal, godless plot to lead the world to hell. Just in case you haven;t heard, I want to tell you. Like I said Einstein as a lover - MEH! but calling him a satanic disciple is going a bit far.
Now back to the fun and humor of climate change and global warming.
It isn't daily temperature, it's the average of the daytime high and the nighttime low that is rising in many areas of the world. It is also that the seas are warming and as they warm, they can no longer absorb CO2 which is one of the primary paths to creating coral and shells and fixing CO2 in stone. The Gulf of Mexico is at temperatures of 90 degrees F. That is like a lukewarm bath. It is particularly awful for any tropical storm because the warmer the water, the more severe the storm. Thus late this month and into next, if a tropical depression makes it into the Gulf, it's surely going to become a hurricane of considerable force.
All this, of course is the fevered rantings of a godless committed liberal mind. There is nothing but what you can see of feel in this analysis. Your weather is hotter because you sinned and haven't gone to church enough. Three Our Fathers and Four Hail Mary's each day foe a novena will help.
And one last thing, Miss Giggly Tits won Hell's Kitchen tonight. Gordon Ramsey might be a magnificent cook but flash tits at him and pet his stomach and he whimpers and licks your hand like a puppy dog.

This is a thermal anomaly map for Russia.
Has anyone seen something similar for the whole globe?
That is incredible... I hope, Moscow's situation is better now, cause the city was on the news alarming with heavy smoke...
Also that abnormal heat wave is roasting us to, and there is incredible amount of humidity here we really feel as if we are living in southeast asia like Malaysia, Singapour...
Cheers from the roasted istanbul

How quickly we forget past weather patterns...
In 1980 Mt. St. Helens blew up amnd changed global weather for almost a half decade High hot summers and very cold winters. NH saw 100 degree weather in june that year and -25 in Downtown Manchester. Then came Mt. Pinatobo same pattern globaly. This year we have the Icland volcano spewing even more debris in the air then Mt. St. Helens thatw as all at once this was over months eclipsed in the news by BP's destroying the gulf with thier oil spill. So factor that into the puzzle plus we are entering and increase phase in the suns cycle. So yeah weather patterns are F'ed up not from man right now but a freaking huge amount of crap in the air a volcano put out.

In fact I was expecting a bit cooler summer due to the unspellable Icelandic Volcano Ashes... I thought at upper atmoshperic levels they can prevent/block the reach of sunlite but it did notncellations

Unfortunatly just the reverse is true the ash acts sort of like a partial blanket reflecting light but allowing infra red to be trapped. Unfortuantly when the earth's seasons change those areas that could use a boost wont get it and shorter daylight means less energy in so less heating.

A-1, The news media are one of the big winners in the global warming thing.
But isn't God doing a pretty good job of doing a bit of extermination right at the moment, eh!

Some of the changes in climate are due to short-term factors like large volcanic eruptions that launched tiny particles of sulfuric acid into the upper atmosphere (stratosphere) in 1963, 1982, and 1991. These natural events can change climate for periods of time ranging from months to a few years. Other natural events, like El Ninos, when warm water spreads over much of the tropical Pacific Ocean, also have large short-term influences on climate. The large spike in global temperature in 1998 was associated with one of the strongest El Ninos of recent centuries, and a weak El Nino contributed to the unusually high 2002-2003 global temperatures.
Not exactly what you said, like so many things you post its kind of true somewhat, but you do leave out what seems to be inconvenient to your cause.
The fact is that the temperature has been rising every year on average for a few decades and its not just volcano's or El Ninos, MAN is also causing a good part of it.
