Dep provera not working. please help

I have tried several different regimes with depo provera. i have tried once a month, twice a month, and now once a week. One horrible aspect is that when I take the injection on Friday afternoon, Monday seems to be horrible. Anger and rage is over the top for the first 4 weeks. Week 5 is where i'm at now seemed to be better.

It however hasn't stopped or slowed down nocturnal errections, only allows me to last longer now. The sexual thoughts and desires have remained the same as well if not stronger. I know that sex offenders are given 300 mg per week so i thought for sure that 150 mg would be enough. I hear other stories how people take only 150 mg a month and they reach castrate levels. Any info or suggestions would be appreciated. I'm on 150 mg per week on depo provera with absolutely no success. Drugs are from inhouse pharmacy. Thanks!

I have no idea why you are getting such lousey results with Depo Provera, my own experience was completely different from your account here... Within two hours of my first injection, I felt the beginning effects, and honestly, the next morning I had no erection and could not get an erection. If I played for a long time with it, I got semi-erect and was always soft.

Honestly, Depo Provera was super-effective for me, and I really enjoyed my whole chemical castration experience.

Are you perhaps injecting it in the wrong place? It is supposed to be an intra-muscular injection, in any large muscle, some people prefer the buttock and others prefer the back of the upper arm into the tricep muscle. All I can think is that maybe you injected into a vein and the drug was quickly cycled out of your bloodsteam instead of slowly comming out of the muscle.

Are you sure of the quality and concentration of the drug? It seems unlikely, but maybe you got a batch of "watered down" stuff or something.

I am so sorry to hear that Depo Provera is not working for you, and I hope you soon find some effective chemical castration method.

I am injecting the meds into the gluteal muscle or butt. I have never had any probs with anything from inhouse pharmacy.

I allways injected it deep into the leg mussel. It took about 2 weeks for it to drive my tes levels down to castrate levels. Try again, and be patient and dont rush it. or take more than you should.

We are all different, as you know, but your reaction is a surprise to me. I ordered doses from Goldpharma before, this time I just received new doses from Inhouse Pharmacy to compare, next injection in 10 days (to be continued)

I forgot to mention : I always inject into a thigh, fast and painless.

DP took about 2 weeks to take full effect for me. But working just since. I only get one injection per month.

To be honest, I used Depo Provera on and off during 2009 and 2010, and the results varied from batch to batch -- remember that they are air-freighted from Vanuatu and they may be sitting in a warehouse for some time, so the temperature varies. (One reason why doctors should be more willing to provide the stuff for the reasons we want it, not to mention the ethics of how IHP sources its medication.) The first vial I used, had precisely the right effect, and I was entirely untroubled by erections for the few weeks it worked in earnest (which wasn't the next day but from a couple of weeks after). I had two vials about a week apart in January 2010 and it had a similar effect.

However, I started again in August 2010 and continued until December, when a mixture of financial constraints and medical advice made me stop, and the effect seems to have been much weaker, and I got aroused more than I would have wanted to despite taking several 150mg vials about a month apart each. So, I don't know if that's the effect of being on and off or just because I had a weak, or degraded, batch of DP.
