Moi

Yes, it can be done. It just adds weight, losses and points of failure to the construction.

I wonder how much loss of efficiency for the environmental benefit as in saving birds, noise and vibration.

Any idea?

What do owl gonads have to do with power generation? --FLO--

Check your spelling, check your spelling, grrrrrrr, ok I change it, thanks River

Sorry, moi,

I know that the truth hurts, but a DOSE of it is always good for the soul.

DID YOU ACTUALLY READ THE LINKS THAT I PROVIDED BEFORE YOU STALKED OFF IN A VENOMOUS RANT?

Better go back and read them so that you can dream up a logical argument.

The "grid" where I live is seldom down. Even if it was with a 11 mph wind such a set up could provide enough electricity that I would not need to hook up to the 'grid'.

In fact, it the grid goes down the setup is automatically isolated from the grid.

Geese can fly between the blades of these things and not get hit if they time it right.

Just admit it, old man. Technology has taken off and left you treading water in the 1970's.

They are like in the before time of DirectTV.

2) When "the grid is down", all your generating stuff as you would sell to the grid isn't worth a wooden nickle. Ok? Did you know that?

Re,: link

I wonder why the old Turkish / Dutch style windmill, where the moving part is so heavy it acts as a flywheel - isn't employed more. A lower RPM would also be kinder to the birds that happen to find those windy passes through the mountains so handy. Also, the higher RPM windmills do have a noise problem.

Then I look at the ocean and wonder why an electric generating 'carpet' could not be engineered. An acre of ocean surface undulating electric generating carpet might generate how much electricity? Well it has yet to be designed.

More answers on application

DEAR moi,

It has already been designed.

One good thing about the economic slow down these last years is we have had no "brown outs" or "rolling black outs" in Southern Califo-nia.

Before the economic slow down such grid occurrences were regular events.

Meanwhile, we have had no new major electric generating plants built while we keep increasing the number of electric plugs evidenced by, sprawl without infrastructure.

That's is how it is here, in "The O.C." and neighborhood.

Diff from A-1's experience I imagine.

No that is the tidal action design. Directional turbine.

I am talking about a "carpet" as could harness the energy of the undulating surface of the ocean to generate electricity.

A-1, do you read other's uploads before responding? 🙄

Rant on, "Dear".

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wave_power_plantNot a generating carpet, but close - it uses wave energy
