I always felt glad that I wasn't circumcised as an infant, but I became curious about, and by the time I was 30 I wanted it badly enough to ask my doctor to refer me for circumcision. I had some redundant piercings in my foreskin so the surgeon had to remove quite a lot of skin in order to remove the piercing scars. The surgery (done under general anesthetic) went ok, and I went home with 17 stitches in a slightly jagged ring about half an inch behind my glans. I was a bit shocked by how little skin I had left as it restricted the length of my erection. I told the surgeon so when I went back for the follow up appointment. He said I shouldn't worry because it would stretch in time. A couple of the absorbable stitches let go early and erections made the scar pull open a bit, but it healed up ok. I had to learn a new masturbation technique, which was strangely enjoyable

I think I lost about 1/2" too much penis skin, and rather than shaft skin stretching as suggested my the surgeon, scrotal skin has pulled forward. This means that I have a slight 'turkey neck' and the base of my cock is a bit hairier than it might have been otherwise.

25 years later, I'm still very happy with my circumcision. I don't think I lost any erotic sensation. I prefer the way my cock looks, and if I had my time again I'd probably do the same again, but maybe not have such a tight circumcision.

It's not exactly castration, but as a first step in trimming down there, I'm getting circumcised on Saturday. To say I'm nervous is an understatement. It's been done by a legitimate doctor, who I know through a friend. He wants to do a very radical circ, taking all the foreskin off, leaving a scar 2mm under the glans and having it so its very tight when errect. Is this a good idea? Also what is healing like? He says that because so much skin is being removed, there is no need for bandages, just 20 or so stitches. I'm having it done for a few reasons - mainly that I'd prefer the look of a cut cock and also in the hope that having "something" done down there will alleviate my need to be castrated, as I'll feel I've taken control of my genitals.

The usual pre-op jitters are of course making me have 2nd thoughts, but I think on the whole, it'll be good to have the old turkey neck taken off. Thoughts welcome, please be nice

I wanted to have exactly the same style of circ like you are wishing to have. As low and tight as possible. So I got it.

With every day the circ date approached I got more nervous. I was as asking questions as well, if it is really right thing to do. That is normal. Before Iwent do a doctor I made a very informed decision to get it done. I knew in details what was waiting for me and that it is not possible to reverse things. First I accepted all the effects and the fact it will be this way for the rest of my life.

That helped me a lot to get over all the emotional fluctuations before and after circ. Be prepared to emotional swings after circ too! And remember that this is what you wanted!

Over time you will get used to circ and do not notice it much, but it will take time from 6 months to year till your glans gets used to no protective skin.

Healing from tight circ may cause you painful erections at nights. You will wake up at nights. But as it heals it will fade. I think my painful erections didn't last longer than a month.

First you will miss your glas will miss your foreskin as it is too sensitive. It will go away as skin on it gets thicker. It could take 6 months to 12 months. But First 3 months you will notice you are circed every time you walk.

Expect to loose a lot of sensitivity. It feels kind of numbed afterwards. Circ scar would be painful for 6 months after.

I was circumcised at 5 months old, to cure rheumatic fever! Now that I'm old, I find intercourse and masturbation to be more difficult, and less satisfying, due to lack of sensitivity. Have you studied the many accounts of the muscles, blood vessels, and nervous system of the foreskin? Much of this knowledge dates only from 1996, when a urologist took the trouble to investigate the structure that had been cut off for centuries.

It isn't too late to cancel your procedure, your doctor really doesn't need the money he'll be making out of you. And that is the only real reason that the medics still do the op.

I'm sorry to hear about your problems Hairy Harry. I have a friend who grew up deeply resenting his circumcision. In his case it seems to be partly because his step parents had it done when he was small and when he later discovered that they were not his 'real' parents he decided they had no right to have him circumcised. I don't think any parents have a right to circumcise their children, but I believe in situations where the foreskin is too tight circumcision is still the most effective treatment.

A lot of circumcised guys grow up wondering what it would have felt like to have a foreskin and that wondering can tip over into a kind of grieving for something missed out on. I can only try to reassure you that although I can still close my eyes and remember a few of my foreskin sensations (and I did have that foreskin for 30 years) there is nothing there that I really miss. After my circumcision healed I did have

to learn a new masturbation technique.

I realised that I used to make an 'O' with my thumb and index finger and work my foreskin back and forth over my coronal ridge. There was no longer enough skin to do that so I had to grip the shaft of my penis behind the head and work the skin in that position with shorter strokes. I was very relieved to find that it made me come as quickly as ever. When I had sex with my girlfriend it felt as good as ever.

Like you, I am no longer a young man. I'm not so easily aroused as I was and it can take me longer to come. My wife can get sore like yours does. Sex isn't as easy as it was. But it isn't because I don't have a foreskin.

Thanks for the comments everyone I've spoken to Doctor and he's gonna still do it very tight, but in a way that doesn't overly impact on errections. Though he claims that that it will take me ages to come because of the removal of the sensitive skin - I'm okay with that though With regards to the relationship to my castration desires, its simply that if I think "what the hell have I done" with regards to the circ, I'll know that genital mods are a fanatasy, not reality, and no real harm will have been done - plenty of guys are circed after all.

So, going to go ahead with it tomorrow, and will keep everyone informed of my healing/outcome

I think your Doctor's joshing with you re. taking ages to come post circ. I was only 30 when I had my circumcision and I think I tried masturbating (gently) for the first time about 5 or 6 days post op. Handling my 'new' cock was so erotic. I loved the sensations of being hampered by the shortened skin plus needing to go easy. I came pretty quickly. However the mega erection I got just before coming pulled a stitch and a bit of the 'wound' opened. I showed it to the doctor the next day and he wasn't worried. He said it'd close up, but I should try not to disturb it. That was a tall order. I was like a kid with a new toy

Incidentally, I just remembered. When I was in the hospital pre-op, they gave me some pills. I asked the nurse what they were and she said one was a pre med to chill me out. I think another was an antibiotic, a third was something called stilboestol (sp?). She was gone again before I thought to ask what it was. After I came round from the anaesthetic I was pretty groggy and did a lot of sleeping. I was woken in the evening and had another round of pills (this time pain medication, antibiotic, plus stilboestrol). I was also given something to eat and drink. Several nurses came to see me and to have a look at my dressing, including nurses I'd met a few months earlier when I was in there recovering from a motorcycle crash. A a couple of them were very pretty and I remembered having flirted with them (as best as you can after an operation). Anyway, as my circumcision was done in the afternoon, they kept me in overnight. I slept fairly well except for being woken by a painful hard-on in the early morning. When a nurse came round with the drugs I told her that I'd guessed that the stilboestrol was to prevent erections. She smiled and said "Yes, it is." So I told her it wasn't working, which made her laugh.

Knowing what I know now about anti-androgens I don't suppose the surgeon expected the stilboestrol to work immediately. They probably intended to get enough of the drug into me to reduce erections for a week or two post-op. If your doctor hasn't spoken to you about this it might be worth asking if they intend to give you something to reduce erections.

Yeah I think he is - he definitly seems to enjoy his work and I think he says that as it gives him kicks. He's removing the frenum completely and leaving just enough foreskin so it doesn't hurt much when errect (but he says to expect a level of discomfort). I'm hoping it heals as quick as you experienced - I'm 6 years younger than you were at the time, and usually heal quickly. I'm being done on an outpatient basis with local anesthetic, with pain meds being given after. However, I'll admit that I'm planning on being a bit naughty, and seeing friends in the evening post circ (saturday night after all!), rather than lieing in bed, so I'm hoping that the meds work and that stitches dont tear! I'll ask him about anti-errection meds tomoz too. Thanks for the reassurance

I went to the pub the following evening. Not a sexy scene at my local - mostly full of farmers, but the landlady was nice and as I was single I'd often get into conversation with her. So she asked me what I'd been up to and I said, "you really wanna know?" She was all ears so I quietly told her all about the circumcision. I think as with everything, mileage varies. Pre circumcision, it used to take me 5 - 10 mins to get off. Post circ (low, tight, frenum intact) takes at least 30 mins, sometimes up to an hour. I like the build up, and getting off is more of a journey now rather than something to do in a hurry.

I had a general for mine. Went in at 1pm, allowed home 5pm that evening. Didnt really have a problem with erections. Was tight, and a bit painful but the stitches held. If it gets really uncomforable, get into the feotal position. That REALLY helps.

As for how soon you can use it. I used it VERY carefully on day 3. It was painful, but that added to the pleasure. Just had to take it very carefully. Obviously, also need to learn a new technique, but the experimenting has been fun.
