I am available to proofread stories and suggest changes in spelling, grammar, sentence structure, etc. I prefer to work with stories that have a coherent plot and are credible in the context of the "universe" that is presented. (In other words, unlikely social structures and supernatural elements are fine, as long as the actions of the characters are consistent with what real humans would probably do in those situations.) That said, I am glad to point out minor inconsistencies, what film makers call "continuity problems."
I tend to be conservative, but not anal, on issues of grammar; e.g., I don't mind a sentence fragment that expresses an idea more economically than the corresponding complete sentence, and I will leave an occasional split infinitive in place if fixing it makes the sentence awkward.
Stories by talented authors whose first language is not English are especially welcome. I have lived in the USA all my life so, while I will respect British usage, I might not be able to fix errors with 100 percent consistency.
If you are interested, please send me a private message on this board.
Peter

Re: Editor available
If you simply want HTML stripped out for a clean text copy, I can help with a few. I can even put a header paragraph in (which can be removed by you) that id's the story content, genre, or other information you wish to see.
My output might not be great, but I'm sure with as big as this project is, every little bit helps.

LT,
Send a message to talula.
He can point you to the test area so you can try and get the feel of it.
Thanks.

Re: Editor available
I'm searching anyone who could check my grammar.
I tried to translate one of my original Japanese story to English,
and I'm not sure my work is understandable or not as I'm not native.
Especially, I'm scared "the TENSE" my 1st language won't care about it.
My story sandwiches the reminding of past, so I need some advice to correct that.
If anyone who could help me, I'll appreciate all.
The story is
[None(?)] [Minor(One of sub characters)] [WARNING: SPIDERS(big)] [WARNING: SNUFF(or just dead)]

Innocence; I look forward to your story, but sadly, your one warning made me close my eyes and scream. SPIDERS?! BIG??? EEEEEEEkkkkksssssss (Stefan runs away while screaming "Get 'em off me!! Get 'em off me!" then self-medicates himself until he's a jibbering mess on the floor)
Spiders... shudder...

I plan to buy a remote control spider that is on sale at Big 5 Sporting Goods this week.

It is supposed to be able to walk on floors, walls and even ceilings. I think it probably uses van der Waals forces like the gecko.

Yes, that's why I used the RED letter.
I know some of you would respond as that.
My story is about the man who trapped into the web of the monster spider.
And he was implanted the egg into his thing.
(...What do you use the verb about making egg by spider in English?)
My Japanese readers were seemed to get good impressions.
(though I made them let read it without warning)
So, now I'm searching tough English readers who don't care about to be fucked by big mother spider.

The spider laid an egg.
