Chat Room On Line With Restrictions

One of the potential solutions I'm working on is going with a pure Java/Flash chatroom, and have it linked in with the vBulletin database for user accounts. So you wouldn't need to register again, just use your existing message board account to get into the chatroom.

I'm reading the EA for years, nothing more but this hacker changed my mind just a bit to provide a possible "solution"...

Did you ever consider moving the chat to I2P? Maybe there's a way to host a backup of the EA there if the hole site comes repeatedly under attack e.g. DDoS...

I admit. I'm VERY surprised. I thought there was more demand to get the chat room back than this. To date, I've gotten precisely ONE volunteer to help test out the new room.

Until I can get more people willing to come in and check it out so I can see what kind of load it puts on the server, and that kind of thing, I will not be opening it up to the general public.

You want it back? It's out of my hands now, its all up to you folks.
