Elizabeth, you make a good point about no one changing their minds. I'd like to start a new trend, so here goes: I'm now a Roman Catholic priest, a liberal Democrat, and a motherfucker, in no particular order.

I will point out that Atheist to Roman Catholic Priest is not that great a leap. Both are religions, both statements of faith about the unknowable. Three thousand years of trying have pretty clearly shown that neither the existence, nor the nonexistence of God is capable of proof. You are just changing to a different faith in the unknowable. But being a honest agnostic is not going to sell many books.

Well, Transward, you see, it IS a double-standard.

If they catch a STR* Priest having sex with a woman, young lady, prostitute, whatever, they excommunicate him.

However, if they catch a Gay Priest having sex with a choir-boy, they hide him, excuse him and protect him...

But of course, since they used to CASTRATE choirboys, I guess that their lot IS improving, they DO NOT have to give up their BALLS any more. All that they have to do is give some blow jobs and get butt-fucked until they get old enough find a way out.

Are we really here to change each others minds or is it just a really huge waste of time? Well, in my 18 years on the internet I have yet to see one person change their mind on religion, politics or sexuality. There is no argument great enough to convince someone not to be the person they were brainwashed to be.

Well now you have met me, and yes I can change my mind and have on politics.

In the year 2000 just 10 years ago if you asked me about our health system I would have said we have the best health care system in the world, I was clearly wrong. I support the Presidents health care just wish it had gone a lot further.

If someone can prove to me that I am wrong on a topic with facts I will be more than happy to change my mind.

Global warming, I believe Man is a prime contribitor of it however I don't know if Man is the cause, I still have many questions that have not been answered to my satisfaction. Having said that we/Man should do everything we can to clean up our act.

Religion, every group of people through out the world has at its start developed mythology to explain how we got here, the bible is no different. Today a wise person will look to science for those answers as they can be explained and its not voodoo or magic or God on high but simple science.
