I'm surprised no-one has mentioned the one common factor running through Latin America....The Roman Catholic faith...and what is the mission of the RC church? Why , to populate the earth...They are overpopulated. There is just so much to go around and they are oversucking the juices of their homes...

So...Go forth, propagate, starve to death...Unfortunately, I see overpopulation as the real problem facing the world today....furthered by the inane desire of many religions to propagate their faiths so that they may take over the world....Stop the madness....dragonfly

I have made the point before and will repeat it. This viewpoint was accurate a generation ago, but is wholy offbase now. All thru Latin America I work in places where people below 50 have 9 or 12 siblings and two kids. That observation applies from Chile to Mexico. I am now in really remote Mexico. It is a day's drive to get to the nearest city that any of you would recognize. The towns are pretty sparse and only have a couple of hundred people maximum. In the last month I have worked with five local guys. As I get to know them, I chat about their life. Of the five, there are none that have over two kids. I was surprised, but birth control is now OK.
