It is Autumn.
During the transition all cats have a whiny period. Now they have adjusted.
OFBK :kittygray spends fewer hours outside and chooses to come in to take the afternoon sun through a big picture window on a bedroom carpet.
Izzy
and Solly both had their increased demands for love time but, have now settled down to their norm. Napping together in the master bedroom.
The best news is flea season seems to be over.
During the transition all cats have a whiny period. Now they have adjusted.

It is Autumn and the cats are doing what they do best. Nap. Eat. Nap. Body functions. Nap. Eat. <repeat>
OFBK :kittygray likes being held recently and purrs.
Usually I would hold her near the kitty furniture and she would soonly opt to step on the furniture.
Lately, she chooses to stay in my arms.
Izzy remains an aloof mystery.
Solly keeps growing and is like an excited puppy dog as soon as I stir in the morning. Love time or else, loud time.

Pretty much the same as above.
They are really taking napping to new heights.
I guess everyone's cats are just napping and have little to share except napping kitty.
This Autumn it just really seems to be more than I remember.
OFBK barely spends 3 hours outside before opting to come in.

I had a long talk with Rupert the other day, I asked him if he thought he would like a ride for several days in the truck, he meowed at me. I took that as a NO, as he turned and walked away from me, over to his scratching post and proceeded to rip out several pieces. That is always a bad sign so I gave him some treats to change his mood.
Rupert will spend about a month or so at our good friend Talula's house, Nelly will be traveling with us as when I asked her if she wanted to go for a ride in the truck she jumped up and grabbed her lead and headed for the door. I took that as a yes.
So the move is on, leaving about the 20th of January and due in Hawaii around the 4th or 5th of February.
The weather here is frightful,
In Hawaii its delightful,
and since were leaving soon,
Let it snow! let is snow! let is SNOW!
It doesn't show signs of stopping,
I guess I'll do some packing,
Only two more rooms to go,
so Let it snow! let is snow! let is SNOW!
When we finally hug all goodbye,
and head out into the storm,
Patt, Nelly and I,
will be singing this wonderful tune,
The snow is getting less,
The roads are good, god bless,
Hawaii is on the dawn,
Its all behind us now,
so Let it snow! let is snow! let is SNOW!
Here 40 and snowing, Hawaii, 80 and warm.

Fun stuff, however that would never happen with my two kids.
Rupert the cat and Nelly the dog are the same size and weight. Both come in about 6am to snuggle on the bed with me each morning, I pet both of them then we go back to sleep. When I finally wake up the dog and cat are next to each other snuggling up against me. I have caught them on the recliner together asleep with the cats paw over the dog, I have seen the dog using the cat as a pillow. At night Nelly gets in her little basket with the blanket which I cover her with, I leave some of it on the floor next to Nelly which the cat uses, the two of them sleep next to each other most of the night. This is not to say that Rupert has given up his place as GOD, its just that Nelly knows who's the boss.
As I write this Nelly is in her basket covered up and Rupert is next to her, both asleep.
It is strange, I got Rupert as a kitten, Nelly was a 6 years old rescue but from the moment Nelly joined the family Rupert had a new friend, they were buds on day one.
As we are getting ready for our move to Hawaii, Nelly will be traveling with us but Rupert will stay with our good friend talula. Once we get settled, Rupert will be sent to us. I know it will be a great family reunion when he arrives, not only for Rupert and me but Rupert and Nelly.

OFBK :kittygray has been reserving about three hours of her evening to sit by me.
I can be in one of two places and she manages to sit close. Not too close, just close.
This has been a positive change in our relationship.
The brothers rest by an electric heater or on a heating pad. They love such heat.
OFBK goes for the sun. With her black coat she soaks up heat very efficiently.
