A parasite in the brain would be more like eating raw undercooked pork. See that's dangerous. Encephilitis is the least what could happen. creeps me the hell out when parasites are feeding from your brain.

In my house it's nothing but dogs. Small one's at that too. We have one chihuahua .holy shit is it anti social, no thanks to my parents spoiling it with peanuts(loves planterns variety the most),frozen yougurt and cilantro and a well trained pequenez/pomeranian.

Id say so long as you deworm critters and feed them good stuff (not just dog/cat food) but actual goodies you can def keep them away from parasites. I get angry when my dogs eat grass. well at least one of them. the chihuahua doesn't do it but she's a trouble maker and always teases the other dog by humping it.and she spazzes whenever i bring over friends .ugh....there's only so much I can take hearing her bark so loudly.

NB = The frozen yougurt they crave so much contain Howaru probiotic bacteria and pints of omega 3. once in a while we give them this special treat. Especially since its so damn hard to find at superstore. It's almost always gone bc its so popular. Presidents choice blue menu approved too. Also strawberry banana flavoured

Which parasite are we talking about?

Previously, only pregnant women were advised to avoid infested cats because the parasite could destroy fetal retinas.

Persons with healthy intact immune systems do not have a problem.

The increasing population of immune compromised persons makes the parasite more of a public health problem

In comparison I would rate the threat just under getting struck by lightening twice and surviving.

Cat's can be screened via cat box leavings. If some of their diet is "hill meat", then they may become infected/infested at any time the "hill meat" offers the opportunity.

Solly, named after King Saul who was the largest man Samuel came upon to anoint . . .

Well Solly was a big kitten with big bear paws. Saul, Solly seemed to fit. His special time with me is when I wake up. He butts his head against me and gets a purring charge from attention at that time of day. BTW a square on head butt is considered Kitty Love as opposed to being marked by scents off the cheeks.

Solly will usually sleep/nap with his little brother, Izzy, for Isaac. Today was growing sleep. Finding his way under some covers and when he comes out he is bigger and thinner. Little brother Izzy, just stays little and delicate. Has not grown for years.

Solly is the third down the pecking order of the three. Easily frightened and will NOT go outside.

I really appreciate my Solly-Kitty and hope he knows it.

For the record, he is a Eunuch. ;)

Moi, it is probably "Toxoplasma gondii".

Or toxoplasmosis.

Unless it is already too late change radio stations and NEVER listen to this PROPAGANDA again.

Otherwise we will find where you live and send cats to piss on your car tires and your front door every day until you vomit from the fumes and the rims rust off of your car.

The only way to prevent this is to start feeding stray cats.

P.M. either moi, River or myself and we will tell you what to do should you start to become retarded or become even more schizoid that you are now.

Did you know that failing to pet a cat at least once a week leads to PARANOIA?

...sorry it took me two years to respond but I have been mourning Baby's death at 18 years...over two years ago.

Rupert is much better today and loves the fact that I put two C-clamps on a board with carpet on my end table so he can more easily get from floor to cat tree, - yes I am staff.

You know you are a cat lover when they hurt so do you.

They really appreciate it though :) Glad he's doing better!

Mine has now managed to find one of her Christmas presents. It didn't even have catnip in it. Just glad she got one of hers and nobody else's!

In this cooler weather,

the cats seem to sleep more and need more individual personal attention between naps and feedings.

Who doesn't 😄

They seem to eat a lot less too? They trough all autumn then burn it staying warm over winter.
