Well Persephone hasn't decided to leave the bathroom yet, but I brought her some soft food, and she dug right in. After, she had a real good drink of water. She seemed to perk up for a bit. Ran quickly to use the litter box, then came right back to her spot on the bathroom floor. Her back legs looked kind of shaky while she was walking and standing. Still in some pain, the poor thing.

I left the food and water within easy reach for her.

She hasn't had her big poop yet. Doc said it should happen sometime today.

Is this weird? I sitting here on pins and needles waiting for my cat to poop. Yeash. This is what my life is reduced to.

Still. She's eating and drinking, and showing signs of life. Little victories you know.

I understand, when they hurt you hurt, I have 5 kids and when they got hurt it did not leave me the way my cat did when he was injured, I was a basket case.

Persephone has been more active today. Came out and met my pal who's going to look after her. Ate some more, drank some more. Her meows have returned to her usual demanding voice. Less of the little girl in pain sounds she had been making.

To help stimulate her appetite, I opened a can of tuna, and gave her some tuna flakes and the tuna water. She shoved her brother out of the way, and consumed it all in one sitting.

I still have not noticed a big poop. I have a feeling my buddy will be gifted that little log, while I am away. She is definitely on the mend now, so I think I can leave her with a modicum of peace of mind.

Still worried, and I'll probably be checking my email two or three times an hour while I'm at the MoM. At this point now, I think it will be okay.

Here's to hoping anyhow.

I BBQ'ed a steak for the first time in a while.

The Siamese could not care.

But, Old Fat Black Kitty, although topped off on her food,

was acting sweet, and "mews" and got two pieces of

steak minced up. Usually I don't like to give critters spices, but -

she is an old kitty who has eaten worse. And fresher meat too.

She was satisfied after the second. Usually a taste suffices.

Persephone did well while I was away. She showed her displeasure at being abandoned by pooping in a few interesting places for my buddy to clean up. But she is back on her food, and back to being active... for a cat.

She is mad at me right now. I take that as a very good sign. She'll forgive me in a few days time.

I still have two cats. I am getting a talking to from Ulysses at this very moment. I've given him some ice water. Maybe he'll take it as a peace offering?

The next few days my cats will be lavished with attention. Then I hope things can get back to normal.

Yes, both of mine felt the same way, yesterday I had to give them lots of attention as they also thought I had abbanded them even though they saw me several times a day.

Glad your home safe and it was great meeting you.

A humid, hot summer does seem to change the cats into walking flea condos.

When I get flea bit I know it is time to treat the cats again. Amazing how fast Frontline Plus works.

Old Fat Black Kitty hangs in the back and front yards now. Social but not "loving" like puppy dog Siamese brothers who require personal attention every day. Izzy goes for it when I am starting to go to bed. Curling up under my armpit or on my stomach, just for 20 minutes or so - then moves on.

Solly is first eye opening in the morning. Meowing, head bunting until acknowledged.

Old Fat Black Kitty just makes a small sound and stretches when she wants only a few moments of attention. Even trying to encourage, "love time" with her does not work. She only does that when she moves into a new home and ID's the sympathetic sucker. I have seen her do it twice, once on me, once three homes ago.

Feral Orange Kitty is off hunting on a heavily moused farm for several months.
