Try put him on a low carb diet as is certainly natural for cats.

Hard food packages do not mention starch or sugar. You have to subtract the protein, fat, fiber, taurine, etc to realize they are too heavily reliant on that corn or brown rice for kitty sustenance.

Again the Chicken model offers an alternative. Roast a chicken and enjoy it for your self and Rupert. No fish. Beef or pork if he takes it. They all love turkey. But, I never had luck with ground products. Even cooked to taste.

G'luck.

Lucky Rupert. Too bad about his long winters. ;)

I watched a show on that where through DNA testing said all dogs come from the gray wolf, but in the study they took the most easy going baby foxes and raised them by hand, after several generations they even looked different and were like happy little dogs. I want one.

And although only bred for gentleness they developed a bark and foxes do not bark. They also developed floppy ears like modern domesticated canines.

I wish they could bred a gentle raccoon. I hear opossums are good pets, gentle and may ride your shoulder like the baby does with mother.

But, cats are more of a co habitation acceptance. And that makes our relationship special, each one with a different set of rules, even the brothers.

A breed Racoon would be awesome. They have an awesome metabolism and can eat anything.steak, pies, cookies, doritos etc...

Easy to monitor their bellies as they're naturally adaptable to a very high fatty caloric intake diet.

I'd call my pet raccoon "bert" from the 80's cartoon show "the raccoon's"

Back to kitty affairs.I would love a Tiger like kitten.I'd call him hobbes.

Comic-strip was awesome and I'm sure you all would agree that a little Calvin is in us all.

You know I don't know.My buds cat chases lasers all the time.Something about conventional necessity or it's wild predator instincts kick in to try and catch its prey.Lazers somehow trigger this predatory response.

I know that Rupert has been a total joy in my life, I had never had a cat before him, other then a couple wild ones, and even the dogs like the cat, or at least know he is the boss. I don't think there will be a time in my life from now on that a cat is not part of it. Just one change though, the next cat will be one I am not allergic to.

I get ticked when people naturally assume cats or dogs cause allergens.

It's really the by product of protein coatings on their fur.Much like peanuts have in their outer layer shell.Except its much more complex and targets specific individuals.
