My beloved cat of 2 years 3 months sadly passed away on Friday 6th May 2011.

She probably passed on from old age. She came to me as, I am guessing, an abandoned domestic cat, so I did not know her exact age, but from her whiskers and eyes, I guessed she was old.

She was a beautiful, loving cat.

She was beautiful. I am sorry for your loss. Cats have a knack for insinuating themselves into our hearts, and it hurts like hell to lose them.

It is good to hear from you. You haven't posted for several months. I was starting to worry about you. So welcome back, though I wish your news were happier.

Sorry for your loss.

The near "familiar" I had in my probably Abby got old and passed at age 13.

My current Siamese brothers are going strong at 14.

Black Kitty is probably older.

I like to adopt adult cats and worry about the future loss in this old cats home. Unless I see a cat in pain like when they are passing stones, I provide hospice service.

Has anyone experienced a friendly Persian cat or is that sort more stand offish? Siamese and Abbys are sweethearts. Almost puppy dog you with attention.

The sad sight of a juvenile raccoon in the late morning, with a scab where the tail should be and some wounds to the hairless back of the neck was saddening and reminds us, Nature can be so cruel. Or such a bitch.

Hope it was not connected to Orange Kitty's health.

Raccoons in daylight are a rare sighting.

Orange Kitty is totally "wild". A few times I have coaxed it into the house for food but, as soon a the door closes it panics. Very aware. Exists as part of nature and before I started to feed O.K., it was breaking into peoples homes where dog or cat food was. Currently I only see O.K. every few days and it does not want to eat that much. Must have found fatter pickings.

If a cat makes it beyond a few years old in the wilds it is one of the smart ones. Until they get so old, and falls so sound asleep in the sun that they are harvested by the coyote.

One of natures most successful hunters is the common house cat. Before I stopped letting Rupert go outside he would bring me a mouse, mole, bird, or other small animal he had killed, always very proud of himself when he did. He has always been fed well but sometimes he does like a warm meal.

Orange Kitty showed up today and stuck around for repeated refills. Had three kinds of hard food and a portion of a can of Iams lamb and rice. Took in about three days of food and after satiation did not wait for further courses but just took off.

Black Kitty and I have an agreement where she dines on her prey. Not near the house. Consider interspecies feeding is a sign of great intelligence but no rodent or birds or lizards thank you. Black Kitty can them all enjoy all.

Siamese brothers both demanding lots of attention like when a storm is coming.

10 years ago if you asked me if I liked cats I would have said YES, there best in a soup, tastes like chicken.

Yes, I have seen the light, Rupert has taught me that Cats rule, and I am but a servant to his needs. I do this willingly because if I don't, he has claws and knows how to use them.

I do love my kitty, he is asleep in a basket right next to me and when I go to bed he will curl up at the foot.

Oh yes, the Siamese brothers curl up with me over night.

I wake up in the middle of the night finding myself corralled and curled up in an uncomfortable, sleep awakening corner of the bed.

I move them as non traumatically as I can to "their corner", and go back to sleep until next time. There maybe something "natural", genetically programmed about not rolling over onto a small warm body. And cats exploit human frailty.
