An Oak Park has pleaded guilty to

castrating another man in his kitchen.

Shuo Shan Wang pleaded guilty to practicing medicine without a license and dispensing prescription drugs.

A Birmingham man went to Wang's home after he discovered the service in an advertisement on the Internet.

The man complained of pain following the procedure and had to be hospitalized, Local 4 reported.

Wang could face up to four years in prison. But officials believe he'll likely be placed on probation in his sentencing next month.

Castration case ends with guilty plea

Operation was done in Oak Park kitchen

An unemployed Oak Park engineer will likely avoid serving time in jail after pleading guilty Wednesday to conducting a voluntary castration using his kitchen as an operating room.

The judge, in prompting more details, asked, "You put a knife against the skin?"

"Yes, a castration," Wang replied.

The other charge is a 90-day misdemeanor.

Wang, who has a master's degree in engineering, has no prior criminal record.

"It's a weird case," Wang's attorney, Steve Reina said outside the courtroom. "But let's not forget, he's a first-time offender and there is no reason to smack him hard."

Assistant prosecutor Ken Frazee said the crime was less severe than if the victim had been unwilling.

The man was seeking the castration because he had a sexually transmitted disease and no longer wanted a sex drive, Frazee said.

"Certainly, if the victim had not sought out the defendant and made this request, we would have taken a different approach here," Frazee said. "He's not so much a victim as a complainant."

Wang, a Taiwanese national in the United States on a long-term student visa, was arrested in June after the man he castrated began to bleed and required emergency medical treatment.

Wang told police the man, a 48-year-old Birmingham resident who has not been identified and was not in court Wednesday, contacted him through the Internet, where Wang was advertising his services.

According to investigators, Wang said that he had castrated about 50 men before he ran into trouble with the Birmingham man.

Wang performed the 40-minute procedure, using prescription pain medication he had purchased from a firm in Canada, where it is sold over the counter.

Afterward, a blood clot apparently broke as the the man was laughing.

When he began to hemorrhage, he wandered out to the yard and sat on the curb, where a passing motorist, alarmed by his bloody clothing, called police. He was transferred to a local hospital, where doctors stopped the bleeding.

Police, in searching Wang's small ranch-style home, found a pair of human testicles in the refrigerator.

How can he even be a "complainant"? He never complained, AFAIK.

Hi, all -

Your friendly victim/complainant here. Of course, though, I'm not a victim, and as Happousai pointed out, I never really complained. If the justice system in Michigan really needed someone to complain, this case never would have been brought. As it stands, though, I suppose the ending to this saga will be about as good as can be expected under the circumstances. I'm just glad the cutter might be spared jail time, and I won't have to testify again. We'll just have to wait for the end of the month.

BTW, anyone interested in my whereabouts the last few months can see my new post under Gay Cafe.

Checked that forum at 4:20 PM PST, nothing there. Looking forward to it when you have the time.

I for one would like to know how you are doing, have you healed well, are you having problems with hot flashes, what has happened to your libido, and what other physical and mental changes you have noted.

Nosey, aint I?
