How long to leave the clamp on?
I've done a good bit of reading on the various methods of self-castration and I've decided to try the burdizzo first. I'm not concerned about pain (I have plenty of injectable anesthetics and prior experience using them) The sites I've been on are clear enough on how to use a burdizzo, but don't specify how long to leave it clamped. I want this to be effective the first time, but I don't want to do too much damage to my scrotum because I do plan on having SRS eventually.

As far as I know burdizzo doesn't work that good for humans.
The failure rate is too high. Self application is also a problem.
Also you would get at minimum 4 scars on you scrotum - not a good thing if you are considering SRS.

Re: How long to leave the clamp on?
A burdizzo can castrate a human male but certainly not as easily as it does on some animals. I have had it applied both painfully and unsuccessfully to me and have done it painlessly with anesthetics and successfully to another guy so I have some real knowledge of its usefulness and limitations. The more resiliant human genitals require a much longer clamping time- we used 20 minutes but were chatting and went to 22 on his first testicle so used 22 on the other. A brief clamp will not be successful. It will leave some scaring on the scrotum but when healed is minimal and should not be an issue for SRS if that is some time off. If you need any other info, you can PM me.

I agree, to use this you can't use it on yourself, your arms are not long enough and you can't put the leverage you need to do the job right, the only thing you may accomplish is putting yourself in the ER.
Do it right, see a Doctor.
If going for SRS its easy to get drugs to reverse the effects of testosterone and start estrogen.
Good luck to you and remember, be safe,

10 to 20 minutes minimum to keep the clamp closed
just clamp once on each side and give it time for the blood to stop flowing to the testicles
scarring of the scrotum is minimal..after a few months i could no longer see my marks on the scrotum...also dont clamp to high on the scrotum

See the thread "to burdizzo or not to burdizzo" for a case reported in a medical journal. They clampled for 30 seconds.

Do not kastrieren themselves with a Burdizzio kan humans. The human strands are too and recover again.

Re: How long to leave the clamp on?
I have used the burdizzo many times not sure how good it is as although I have a small amount of shrinkage it has not gone and still has feeling.
I clamped first time twice and left on for almost one hour. Then bought a brand new tool and clamp twice nothing so just over a month ago clamped again with my first tool twice and still nothing.
I will probably try one more time then forget this method as I too want srs later and I do have some scarring from the healed wounds.
I am desperate to be castrated so this was a method I thought I would try.
I am currently now on a chemical castration program and taking oestrogen.
I hope one day to realize my dream I just wish that could be sooner rather than later as the longer I live like this the more desperate for it I become and know that sooner or later I would just band them and cut the bloody things off which I know would be a very silly thing to do. Would love to meet a vet or doctor willing to help me.

I did mine in by banding frequently for up to four hours at a time with ice water to numb them. They always came back but after enough times they finally gave up all resistance and started to shrink themselves spontaneously. Now very small and not producting any testosterone so it might work for you.
Burdizzo can be dangerous and often ineffective. Dont' band and cut them off. Good recipe for gangrene in the stub I think, although I have seen pix of a guy on BME who just banded them and then waited for it all to fall off but he said that the smell was pretty bad towards the end. Took about 30 days as I recall. Not a good idea. Lucky he didn't get gangrene or some other nasty infection
