Does it really work anywhere?

...

It works in Pennsylvania.

It works in New Jersey.

The National Do Not Call Registry is supposed to work everywhere, and since 2007, registration is permanent. Go to https://www.donotcall.gov/ to sign up.

It is done! Thanks for the link.

Yet again. All confirmed and promised and we will see. 🙄

Possibly enforcement varies State to State because I keep reading the Califo-nia attorney general is a fixin to do something about it but,

the calls keep coming.

Thanks again for the link.

I live in Los Angeles and haven't had a sales call in more than two years (or more). The do not call list works fine.

The mailman is of no threat to you and he is the only one knocking. (jehovah's Witnesses be damned)

Not even 3 PM, Sunday

and I have already received three invasive phone calls.

One to clean air ducts,

One from Pete Wilson saying I should support Meg

One for carpet cleaning.

Any guesses how long it takes the Do Not Call Registry to kick in?

We are on the list. It seems like about a year ago there was a flurry of calls from charlatan outfits. On the one hand, there were so many I wrote pissy letters to my senators. On the other hand, it was fun to talk to them until it got to the point of giving them a credit card or checking account number and then hanging up. Or question them until they got the picture and hang up.

So the do not call list does not work for criminal outfits who will be gone quickly.

I don't mind doing that with a live person but most of these calls today its a f n machine. For someone like me who buys minutes I cant stay on the phone for 10 minutes waiting to tell some bastard to fuck off.

IMPORTANT DISTINCTION:

If you go to a car show, or home and garden show, or the fair and fill out a raffle slip to win some prize, you are giving those people your phone number and permission to call you. These people are not subject to the do not call list because YOU gave them your number.

One from Pete Wilson

You mean he has come out of hiding? one of the worst governors California ever had, ran from the center was elected then went to as far right as he could get. I am still pissed off I voted for him the first time over Feinstein a mistake I did not make a second time, for him or Feinstein.

I am so glad she ran for the senate, I do like that lady.

Footnote: It just dawned on me why I don't like the governor of Minnesota, Tim Pawlenty. He reminds me of Pete Wilson, I knew there was something about that snake in the grass, now I know what it is.
