Screw Return Postage Paid !

Post by moi621 (imported) »

As a subscriber to various reputable History, not HERstory, magazines I receive various offers.

The latest from a 'Patriots History blah blah' and when I asked the 800# what else they publish - - truck and various redneck rags.

So I took their postage paid envelope, unless I am so gracious as to supply postage, and loaded it up with well taped, pennies.

I know the plastic or disappearing penny is coming because the copper is of such value compared to one, one hundredth of a dollar as a penny use to represent, in copper!

Is adding penny weights to unrequested, solicitations a way of screwing the bastards?

That is the question. 🙄

Sadly, if we all did this it they would probably think of it as a new source of revenue.

I'd say mail the envelope back to them, empty.

Take all of their advertisements, remove the card with your name, tear the rest of it into bits and put the bits into the envelop and seal it. Then drop it in the mailbox.

Yes!

But, does adding some penny weights, add to their guaranteed postage return costs?

Rusty washers would work even better and be cheaper.

It's a good idea but I think it is illegal.

It got to be a fad some years back so I think

the "direct mail" folks outlawed it.

If it's a political party or charity (you don't like)

send them a $1. They'll spend $50 trying to get

you to send more.

Why bother with a REAL Dollar? I once sent a $500 bill out of my Monopoly game to the Ronald Reagan reelection campaign and didn't stop hearing from Republican causes until I left the home I lived in at the time, in 1996.

They actually spent 12-years trying to get me to send more Monopoly money. :D

Years ago I kept getting these apply for a credit card, so I would write on it not interested and mail it back on there dime. It took a while about 3 years but they finally got the message.

I like taking the pre-paid postage envelope, stuffing it with all kinds of other junk mail, and mailing it back to them. Hey, if they're going to send me junk mail, I'll send them some back!!!

I am not sure I understand why any of you would be so malicious and juvenile. Can someone explain what benefit comes from any of the activities described above?
