Estrogen
I have done reading, but I thought it would be better to ask those who have done this: What changes did you notice when you first started taking estrogen? I.e. mood, physical, sexual, and the way you think/perceive about things, and any other noteable differences. Does sex feel different; do your desires change? -Does it make you more submissive? And physically, what are the functional changes: such as can you still use your penis? does it and your testicles atrophy significantly? do you ejaculate? how is it different? how are orgasms different?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Finally something within my range of expertise
Since mid-february I'm on 25 µg estrogen daily, a low dosage (~100 µg transdermal is transition-level estrogen for most). It's resulted in body finally began to feel like my own and me becoming significantly happier and more outgoing. I can deal with stress and difficult social situations a lot easier now (note that I also have Asperger's, which used to give me much cause for anxiety). I feel a lot more in touch with my feelings; for instance music that I previously merely listened to now really touches me emotionally.

Thanks.
I am not submissive by anyones standards, but if anything using estrogen made me less submissive and a lot more self-assured.
I don't have a sexual partner, so I cannot comment on sex with anyone other than myself. I have noticed a slight reduction in libido: reaching orgasm takes quite a bit more effort and sometimes I don't feel like finishing. No atrophy yet (unfortunately), and morning wood also still rears its ugly head.
But apart from the last two all in all very positive for me
Now I'm just waiting on the results for the bloodwork I had done last monday (with difficulty, as I'm rather needlephobic). Would be rather a shame if that which made life suddenly livable for me is also killing me.
Does that help you? Feel free to contact me through PM.

It's very interesting what you have to say. It does make sense.
What other medications related to Estrogen are you on and what have you noticed or felt about them? I notice that I have fairy strong mood swings on Avodart. Sometimes I felt like I wanted to cry at the silliest things.
From what I've read one can become sterile from Estrogen in 6 months have you made any arrangements in case you want to have children?
Although I don't think it's a hard and fast rule. Different people react differently.
"More self-assured." That's good to hear. I'm glad that you are able to find who you are and that it's making you happy.
I appreciate your response. I think I've learned a few things.

Are you taking Estrogen because you want to transition? I just have noticed that I seem to be very sensitive to anything I take. Do you notice anything else that is different: like the way you perceive things? and how has it changed your sex drive? I often hear of transsexuals developing a female sex drive but I don't really know what that is, as it's never really explained. (I know what a male sex drive is.) I have read that sexual urges themselves are somewhat calmed with Estrogen and an antiandrogen.
Thanks Jacklyn

Re: Estrogen
I dont really want to transition right now but I od want to look more fem. I wanted some breast developement and estrogen is the way to get that. I also wanted a lighter sexdrive and I got it. I do wish to be castrated but I am trying the chemical way for a couple years first. my doctor said if you are taking hormones for a number of years and never wish to fully transition she will recomend an orchiectomy so the anti androgens can be stopped. they are not the greatest thing to put in your body. She did tell me there would be a possability that I may begin to be atracted to men once my testosterone drops to a womans levels and I may be no longer attracted to woman. God I hope that never happens. I consider myself a lesbian even though I am male.

Thanks again Jacklyn
You might get some people arguing that sexuality is already well set before one starts hormones, and that might be true. Most people, I think, are somewhere, on a sliding scale, between 'heterosexual' and 'homosexual'. It may very well be that the effect of estrogen pushes it a bit more towards that of a heterosexual woman, which would make the man go towards the homosexual side a bit more. I'm sure it's a bit different with each individual. That said, MRI's of transsexual MTF individuals showed that their brain in size was more like that of a genetic woman after hormone and anti-androgen treatment.
I've tried herbals and, as I've mentioned before, Finasteride and later, Dutasteride, and for me, with the exception of mood swings, I felt generally more submissive. - To put it best. I thought about calling the girl I really liked, but that 'just thinking about it' was enough, whereas before the DHT blockers I would have not been able to resist calling her for long. I personally believe that the human body reacts to changes and compensates some, and also, like your doctor was getting at, there might be emotional and psychological changes in addition to the physical or more feminine characteristics you will acquire with estrogen treatment. What might seem disturbing or even disgusting now might not seem that bad after you've been on it for a while. But then again it might never be an issue with you.
- One guy once said to me that his girlfriend, a MTF transsexual, had in fact really become a woman, because afterwards she seemed less interested in sex.
We all do things for a reason.

Dr Bowers (A M2F TS person) said that many TS women never end up being sexual active. This puzzled me as my female wife is not indifferent to sex at all. And in fact almost all the women I've known are "pro" sex. The issue may well be that most M2F people do not try to balance all their hormones for natural female levels. The missing component is Testosterone in small amounts. Since they all had to go through great efforts to have their testosterone levels shut down it probably seems insane to start taking it but.... I think to experience a more accurate female life you need all the hormones in the normal female levels.

Re: Estrogen
My sisterinlaw is a male to female transexual and has had the surgery. she was not very sexual durring transition at first but once she had her hormones balanced right she turned out to be just fine in her words. she does however have to take testosterone in a low dose. I dont know how much but she said her doctor said she needed some for bone density and health reasons as well as sexuality. all people male and female have some testosterone in them.
