Alone on Valentines Day

Post by moi621 (imported) »

Alone on Valentine's Day.

Musings

Pretty dark.

Just sent Schizophrenic, alcoholic, compulsive behavior wife her batch of money.

She lives with her family.

At least I still have the cats.

💡 interspecies marriage ?

Seems like same species partners are just, trouble.

And the best people I know are, cats.

Moi this is my least favorite holiday.

I wish I had a mental health diagnosis on my last boyfriend or better yet on me for getting involved. But then I always attract such wonderful men.

Anyway my bed will be empty for this Valentine's Day. Just me, a bottle of wine and "Brokeback Mountain" in the DVD player.

Moi, that's your reward for being so PC-straight! If you'd confined yourself to spending inordinate amounts of time in public rest rooms, you wouldn't be paying alimony.

Valentine's Day is another manufactured holiday, like Halloween, which is promoted to earn money for the companies that make and sell holiday gear - gifts, cards, costumes, etc. Big business. If you have love in your life, you don't need St. Valentine. If you don't, he won't help you. If you're old enough to remember before the 1980s, you know that these days were once occasions for simple fun. Now, my radio is clogged with "last minute" ads for gifts, implying that your love life will sputter out if you don't buy the missus a dozen roses dipped in chocolate and carried by a teddy bear.

Yep. Valentines blows, just on the commercial level. But it can also suck if a person is particularly lonely.

Me, I like to hide on this day, and hope like hell I don't get chocolates from that beastly woman (pronounced 'whoa, man') down the hall who works in sales. She has tried to pick me up (God knows she could, she's twice my weight) several times, and scares me.

The guys at work tease me mercilessly because of this. Isn't there a valentines bunny, or some such thing a la Linus's Great Pumpkin I can appease to about this?

However, if that cute work-experience lad working in bindery served me chocolates off his bare, tight tummy, I may change my mind re. Valentines...

Buy a blow-up (male) sex doll. Make a reservation for two at a pricey French restaurant. Tell the headwaiter your date is late, then blow up the doll at your table, after the champagne arrives. Carry on a romantic conversation with your inflatable paramour while everyone tries to look cool about it. If anyone objects, angrily remind them that this is St. Valentine's Day, dedicated to love and lovers everywhere. I promise you an evening you'll never forget.

I wouldn't be alone if not for my potential future mother-in-law deciding to spring a surprise visit on my beloved today. Now she has to spend most of next week up to thursday with her mom! :(

Technically I'm not alone. The ex whom I'm living with has invited me to spend it with her and her bf. Its fun to bully the bf hehe, but I really rather get to spend it with my beloved.

Well I'm alone again on this day. I'm not sure if I prefer it this way or not. At least there's not the great demand to prove to someone that I love them. Its the same if thing if we've been dating a few weeks, or a few years. Never understood it really. I try and show my love every day, but its this day that counts more then the rest of the year.

Ah well, this year it's the year of the Golden Tiger, so I'll just enjoy myself anyway.

Tugon,

Instead of "Brokeback Mountain" try "Were the World Mine" instead of wine I prefer Irish Creme, Ameretto, or Butter shots.

My kids are back home, and the wife is in the "old Folks prison", I took her a balloon, and her favorite diapers.

Alone is Good.

I'm quite happy actually. Just realised they're running a lot of DS9 episodes on tv! :D
