New evidence shows that time symmetry of subatomic particles points forward.

That is in collisions of subatomic particles, running them forwards and backwards would look different six out of seven times.

Time, as they say, marches on.

Time and tide, as they say, waits for no man.

I Wonder 💡

Will the moderators grow lazier and fatter

with NO Political Forum to manage ?

How will they fill in the empty time?

Maybe, just maybe

Political Forums will open again when the Moderators get sufficiently bored

with their relative inactive status.

I certainly do not know if any of the above is true, just wondering 💡

Moi

Seriously, remember to send your holiday appreciation to the hard working moderators.

It's not like they do it for the pay alone 😄

Happy Holiday Appreciation Moderators

🎈 🎶 🎈

And 🙏 Hope you handle your down time well. ;)

Moi, at this very moment, the moderators are probably putting up their feet with a contented sigh, sipping mai-tais, and basking in the Hawaii sun. It beats herding feral cats at EA.

Our salvation is that in this den of perversity the Moderators may be masochistic enough to pick up the burden again. For myself, I experienced a never ending wonder at the creativity with which insults could be minted. We can but wait and hope.

Yes we are badly in need of a vacation from the minute by minute monitoring of the political board, I am planing a long vacation of a year or two, I have not decided if I will turn it back on or it may never be turned back on which is what we are all looking at and the more I think about it the better it sounds.

This site is not about politics but Eunuch and Transgendered issues first and foremost something that has never escaped those of us who keep this site up and running. When the political board leads to the attacks of members by members it does effect other threads on this board, we have received more complaints about the existence of the political thread then any other thread on this site from those that never post there. so there is much for us to consider and if the political board is ever turned back on it will not be like it has been in the past. There are switches we can use to isolate that thread from the rest, something that we will discuss I am sure at our next annual meeting in August.

How do I say this?

40 years ago, I took a course in POETRY as an elective in college.

The class read HOWL by Ginsberg, much of my favorite poet, Ferlighetti. Over the years, I've read more classics and most poets and even Wislawa Szymborska when she was published. and I loved all of it.

Today, when showing off the new computer to my Niece and Brother, I made some offhand remarks about one of my short stories. IT takes its name from Alan Ginsberg's HOWL ... I read the words out loud not expecting a reaction...

HOWL

I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked,

Dragging themselves through the negro streets at dawn looking for an angry fix,

Angelheaded hipsters burning for the ancient heavenly connection to the starry dynamo in the machinery of night,

Who poverty and tatters and hollow-eyed and high sat up smoking in the supernatural darkness of cold-water flats floating across the tops of cities contemplating jazz,

And now I wonder why I never heard the power behind those words before today.

There is great power in those words. They burn bright.

I wrote an entire short story about those words and never had them speak to me like today.

Howl is a great poem. One of the best of the 20th century. One of my favorites.

I was lucky enough to attend a reading by Ginsberg when he was a professor at the CUNY Graduate Center. He didn't do Howl, which disappointed many, but he was magnificent. He had a guitar player accompany some of his readings. He explained that William Blake was also a composer who wrote many of his poems as songs (Blake's music is now all lost) and wanted to do the same. He talked about collaborating with Bob Dylan and how sad he was that Dylan hadn't done any serious lyrics in a long time.

Good to hear poetry praised at EA.
